FAQ

What is Nautilus?
Nautilus is a different kind of science magazine. It delivers deep, undiluted, narrative storytelling to bring science into the largest and most important conversations we are having today. It challenges the reader to consider the connecting tissue that runs through the sciences and connects them to philosophy, culture and art.

How often do you publish?
Each month, we choose a single theme and examine it from multiple perspectives. A new chapter in the theme comes out every Thursday. Our blog Facts So Romantic publishes daily.

Have you won any awards?
We are the first magazine ever to win two National Magazine Awards in our first year. We’ve also won the Webby for best science website, and more than a dozen other awards for content and art.

Is it free to read?
The first 7 feature articles you read every month are free. Reading more than 7 in a month is restricted to Nautilus Prime members. Print subscriptions include Prime membership for free. Our blog, Facts So Romantic, and our news feed, Three Sentence Science, are completely free.

I’m a Prime member, how do I sign in?
Click on the PRIME link at the top our page, then enter the email you used to sign up.

What if I buy Prime, and then decide I want a print subscription?
Print subscriptions include Prime for free, so if you've already bought Prime, and then buy a print subscription, we'll give you a gift certificate, for the time left on your Prime subscription.

It’s the first of the month. Why didn’t my feature article count reset?
The feature article count resets the first Thursday of each month, when the new online theme launches.

I just ordered a print subscription. When will my first copy of Nautilus arrive?
Your first copy will ship out at the beginning of the month, and takes between 2 and 5 additional weeks to arrive.

My copy arrived damaged, or it hasn’t arrived. What do I do?
Please contact us at customerservice@nautil.us

Do you offer MOBI versions of your issue digital issue?
We sell EPUBS and offer them as downloads to our Prime members. EPUBS can be converted to MOBI & Kindle using the free service EPUB Converter.

How else can I support Nautilus?
You can donate to NautilusThink, the nonprofit that publishes Nautilus magazine. All donations are tax deductible.
