Australian Chart Summary
Monday - Latest
A series of low pressure systems and troughs are triggering thunderstorms over tropical QLD, the upper NT and WA. A trough and onshore winds over northeastern NSW and southern QLD are bringing rain and storms. A trough is drawing a hot airmass over central/southern parts of WA.
Monday 22:00 EDT
Onshore winds interacting with troughs over NSW and QLD will trigger heavy rain and thunderstorms. A broad region of low pressure will generate storms over tropical QLD, the Top End and northern WA. Hot air ahead of troughs will funnel into WA and SA.
Tuesday 22:00 EDT
Fresh onshore winds look to bring showers along the NSW and QLD coast and adjacent inland areas. Low pressure troughs over WA and central parts could cause showers and thunderstorms. A high pressure ridge will keep TAS mostly dry and settled. Heat will build in SA and VIC.
Wednesday 22:00 EDT
Onshore winds will direct coastal showers and isolated storms across the eastern seaboard and adjacent inland areas. A pair of low pressure troughs over western and eastern parts will trigger scattered showers and storms. Warm, moist winds will bring showers to TAS.
Thursday 22:00 EDT
A monsoon trough will generate thunderstorms over the tropics, whilst other troughs drag hot airmasses over southern WA, SA and VIC. Onshore winds combining with a trough will deliver showers and thunderstorms to eastern QLD and northeast NSW.
Friday 22:00 EDT
A monsoon trough over the tropics will generate showers and storms. A trough near the east coast with onshore winds may produce rain and thunderstorms. A trough and low over WA will generate showers and storms whilst drawing in hot air to inland parts.
