In our excitement over the PM's hobnobbing dinner in Perth on Sunday night, we made a clanger by suggesting John Poynton, Future Fund guardian (and good friend to foreign minister Julie Bishop), was in attendance. In fact, the high-flyer was still ensconced in the belly of Margaret River after enjoying the Leeuwin Concert.
Mind you, if he had been there, we're willing to bet the conversation between him and Premier Colin Barnett would have been a hoot – given Poynton funded a poll last year that sent Barnett into a wild rage.
