What is planned giving?
Planned giving (also called legacy giving) is a gift that you set up during your lifetime to take effect after your passing. There are several kinds of planned gifts you can make to Truthout as part of your estate plans. The possible options include cash, publicly traded securities, non-publicly traded assets, retirement plans and life insurance policies. Read more about planned giving at Truthout.

How will my donation be used?
Truthout is funded primarily by small contributions from our readers. We use this money to pay our staff, interns and fellows, to fund investigative reporting from contributing writers, and to cover administrative costs. Because we are a nonprofit, there are no shareholders; all funds go toward pursuing our mission. For more details, please see our most recent annual report.

I can’t afford to make a donation right now. How else can I help?
You can help by recommending Truthout to your friends and colleagues, forwarding them our articles, and sharing our stories on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
