The Australian Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Education (ACIKE) is a collaborative partnership between Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education and Charles Darwin University.

ACIKE aspires to international renown for excellence and results in its teaching and learning programs, community engagement and research endeavours, through its innovative community and state-of-the-art learning hub.

The Centre aims develop productive partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders and organisations for mutual benefit while always giving high priority to financial, social and environmental sustainability in pursuing its goals.

ACIKE’s transformative and innovative teaching and learning, research and community engagement will:

  • privilege and champion Indigenous identity, knowledges and relational ways of being in ways that empower individuals and communities and enhance cultural security
  • promote reclamation and maintenance of Indigenous languages
  • emphasise “both ways” approaches to developing intercultural communication, decision making, governance and ways of doing business
  • benefit Indigenous communities and individuals in the NT and nationally.
