Fairfax Media appoints National Sales Director – Performance, Data and Programmatic

Ross Blackam appointed to newly created position

Fairfax Media has today announced the appointment of Ross Blackam to the newly created role of National Sales Director – Performance, Data and Programmatic within its growing Digital Ad Development team.

Responsible for revenue growth through direct and programmatic channels, Blackam will lead the sales team for Fairfax Media’s DRX performance network, D&A data products suite and the Fairfax Exchange trading desk. He reports into Digital Ad Development Director, Tereza Alexandratos.

On Blackam’s appointment, Alexandratos said: “Ross is the perfect fit for this integral role in our growing Digital Ad Development team, as he shares our passion for creating and delivering innovative digital ad insights, products and solutions to advertisers.”

Blackam has a strong digital sales background in Australia and the UK. He joins Fairfax from Ad.com, a division of AOL Platforms in London, where he was Group Head, UK Sales. In this role, Blackam was responsible for growing revenue across Ad.com’s major agencies, including Group M, Aegis and Vivaki. He also launched AOL’s mobile product and worked on its recent programmatic and Demand-side Platform (DSP) offering to market.

Prior to Ad.com, Blackam worked in the TV and digital sales teams at MCN (Multi Channel Network) in Melbourne.

On his new role, Blackam said: “I’m thrilled to be leading the data and performance ad sales team at Fairfax Media.
