The partner of Australian fitness entrepreneur Kayla Itsines has been charged with reckless driving and possession of prescription drugs commonly used by steroid users to offset side-effects.
Tobias "Tobi" Pearce, the boyfriend and business partner of Bikini Body Guide creator Kayla Itsines, is being prosecuted for reckless driving and prescription drug possession following an incident in February last year, The Advertiser reports.
Pearce, 24, was found with four tablets of Cabolin, a brand name for the drug known generically as cabergoline, when he was stopped by police in an alleged reckless driving incident in Black Forest, in Adelaide's Inner South.
Cabolin, is prescribed to treat prolactinoma, a benign tumour in the pituitary gland, but is marketed 'off-label' to bodybuilders as a way to normalise the libidos of steroid users, increasing their sex drive.
It is alleged in court documents that the millionaire fitness personality did not have a prescription for the tablets.
Pearce faces a possible two years in jail and a driving ban of at least 12 months if convicted. He will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court in May.
It is not Pearce's first brush with the law on the road. Last July, it was reported the Bikini Body CEO's $500,000 Lamborghini Huracan had become a viral sensation after it was spotted - and shamed on social media - while parked in a variety of disabled parking spots in Adelaide.
Pearce did not confirm if he had a disabled parking permit at the time.
As for Itsines, the social media fitness queen (she has more than six million Instagram followers) has remained quiet about the incident, posting her usual slew of motivational quotes and before-and-after pictures to her social media channels without pause for comment.
