A Gold Coast sergeant has been charged with illegally using the Queensland police database to look up the personal details of netball star Laura Geitz.
News Corp Australia reports Geitz is one of more than a dozen people whose files were allegedly accessed illegally by the 40-year-old Broadbeach officer between April and October 2016.

He appeared in Southport Magistrates Court this week on computer hacking charges and his case was adjourned.
