Belle of the ball! Argentina's VERY glamorous first lady outshines Queen Letizia in a fairytale gown as the Spanish royals host a glittering gala dinner
- Letizia, 44, stepped out at Zarzuela Palace in an elegant pale-pink suit
- Had competition in the style stakes from Argentina's First Lady Juliana Awada
- The two wore pastel belted outfits and even had matching chignons
She's used to reigning supreme in the style stakes, but tonight Queen Letizia of Spain has serious competition from Argentina's very glamorous first lady.
The Spanish royals rounded off day one of an official visit by President Mauricio Macri and his wife Juliana Awada with a gala dinner at the Royal Palace, in Madrid.
And Juliana went all out in a fairytale ballgown in dusky pink with intricate floral emboridery and tiny sparkling crystals.
Letizia meanwhile looked more sombre in a floor length black velvet dress.

However she made up for her understated ensemble by wearing a stunning tiara and glittering diamond earrings.
Despite their style rivalry, the pair appear to be getting on famously and strolled through the throne room with their arms around each other on their way to a gala dinner.
Oxford-educated Juliana Awada, 41, has previously also turned heads in her native country for her loved-up displays with Mauricio Macri - not to mention some very frank confessions about their sex life.
The mother-of-two was constantly by her husband's side throughout his election campaign, last year and is known for posting countless loved up selfies of the pair on Instagram.

Earlier today, the two women were much more on par in the fashion stakes as they stepped out in remarkably similar oufits.
Letixia wore an elegant pale-pink suit, showcasing her slim figure with a belted jacket and knee-length pencil skirt.
She teamed the look with a white lace blouse and nude-coloured stilettos that matched her envelope clutch.

Juliana donned an equally chic outfit in a strikingly similar colour palette.
Juliana, 42, joined her husband Argentinian President Mauricio Macri for the welcoming ceremony with Letizia and King Felipe VI this afternoon.
President Macri is on a four-day long state visit to Spain aimed to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
Like Letizia, Juliana donned nude-hued heels, however hers were decorated with bold gold studs.

She also donned a pale lace blouse under her belted dusky pink coat, which gave her a very similar silhouette to that of Letizia - although she added an edge to hers with a dark furry collar.
The ladies also sported similar hairstyles, as both wore their manes pinned back in glamorous chignons.
Mother-of-two Juliana is a businesswoman of Lebanese and Syrian descent, active in her family's fashion business.

Letizia herself enjoyed a successful career as a journalist and newsreader before marrying King Felipe VI of Spain in 2004.
She is now one of Europe's most prominent royals and is mother to Princess Leonor, 11, and Princess Sofía, nine.
She was previously married to Alonso Guerrero Pérez, a writer, but the pair divorced after just a year - and by 2003 Letizia had announced her engagement to Felipe, then the Prince of Asturias.
