Yeah market conditions are tough for sure as there is an excess supply of music, but I haven't heard any new bands come out with something as arresting as say "Animal Nitrate" in years. There are some interesting bands beginning to crop up again; let's hope they develop into something extraordinary rather than be defeatist about it.

It's the Brits, it's for chart music and bands teenagers like, not actual established musicians as such. it only gets the attention it does because it is on prime time tv.

Zayn Malik deserved a win. He has just as much success abroad as Ed Sheeran, Adele etc and is one of our country's biggest exports, yet he is still underrated

who within pop has a voice to match George? Chris just is not in the same league. But who could they have got. Is it the whole rap, drum and base stuff which has moved the focus away from the actual singing voice? The best we could come up with in our house was Rick Astley - I'm serious in terms of a pure, soulful pop voice. Any other nominations?

If I was given the choice of, no music or Little Mix, I would choose Little Mix.
If I was given the choice of, no music or Mozart, I would choose Mozart.
My point was, The Brits struck me as very bland and very safe.
Admittedly, I may not be the target audience, but I got the feeling that my youngest daughter (12) felt the same.
