Some additional tips and notes that I didn't mention in this video...
- You don't have to load film in the dark. You will expose a couple feet of film but the remaining 48 feet will be fine. Just make sure you load in a shaded area and not in direct sunlight.
- If you don't have an extra roll of 16mm film to practice loading your camera with, you can cut a few feet off of a fresh roll of 16mm film and just practice with that.
- http://K3camera.com is a great website to go to and is filled with tons of great info on learning more about the K3 camera.
- When your 16mm camera is not in-use its best to hold down the trigger and run out the drive spring so camera isn't wound.
- If your light meter doesn't go all the way down to "0" when sensor is covered, there is a flathead screw on the back that you can turn and fine tune your meter.
- If you are shooting outside with lots of light, you will insert the "high" slide plate found on the back of light meter into the light sensor. You will then line everything up with the "red arrow" instead of the "white arrow".

16mm telecine using an altered Meopta Club16 projector and a four-thirds reflex camera.

16mm-Schmalfilmabtaster auf Basis Meopta Club 16 (ohne automatische Einfädelung). Das hochwertige Laufwerk dieses Projektors habe ich nach Art einer Bandmaschine umgebaut und mit einer Four-Thirds-Kamera gekoppelt. Diese Kameras haben den Vorteil, daß deren Sensoren dasselbe 4:3 Format aufweisen, wie der 16mm Film. Da die mir zur Verfügung stehende Kamera einen defekten Verschluß hatte, habe ich diesen ausgebaut. Die Belichtungssteuerung geschieht nun in der Weise, daß der Synchronkontakt der Kamera einen monostabilen Multivibrator triggert, der für eine bestimmte Zeitspanne die diffuse LED-Beleuchtung zuschaltet. Diese Zeit ist stufenlos einstellbar, sodaß sich die Belichtung sehr fein einregulieren läßt. Außerdem bleibt durch die mechaniklose Elektronik die Belichtung zwischen zwei Phasenbildern sehr konstant, wodurch Flackereffekte ausgeschlossen werden.
Die Qualität des "Scans" hängt am Ende nur noch von der Abbildungsleistung des benutzen Objektives ab. Zur Anwendung kommt hier ein Jena Tessar 4,5/40mm in Retrostellung, das für sein feines Auflösungsvermögen bekannt ist. Die Einzelbilder können mit Bildbearbeitungsprogrammen bearbeitet und am Schluß mit einer üblichen Zeitraffer-Software zu einem Film zusammengefügt werden.

Here we go with a lens that I really enjoyed working with. It's designed for APS-C cameras but it will fit full-frame as well...with vignetting. I love the 16mm focal length, and f/2 is a very nice maximum aperture for such a wide angle lens, and as for sharpness...well you'll have to watch and find out!

16 mm film
16 mm film is a popular, economical gauge of film. 16 mm is the width of the film. Other common film gauges include 8 mm and 35 mm. It is generally used for non-theatrical (e.g., industrial, educational) film making or for low budget motion pictures. It also existed as a popular amateur or home movie making format for several decades, alongside 8 mm film and, later, Super 8 mm film. In 1923, Eastman Kodak released the first 16 mm "outfit" consisting of a camera, projector, tripod, screen and splicer for $335. RCA-Victor introduced a 16 mm sound movie projector in 1932 and developed an optical sound-on-film 16 mm camera, released in 1935.
History
Eastman Kodak introduced 16 mm film in 1923 as a less expensive amateur alternative to 35 mm film. During the 1920s, the format was often referred to as sub-standard by the professional industry.
Kodak hired Willard Beech Cook from his 28 mm Pathescope of America company to create the new 16 mm Kodascope Library. In addition to making home movies, people could buy or rent films from the library, a key selling aspect of the format.

Film festival
A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.

Film
A film, also called a movie, motion picture or photoplay, is a series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to the phi phenomenon. This optical illusion causes the audience to perceive continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession. A film is created by photographing actual scenes with a motion picture camera; by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques; by means of CGI and computer animation; or by a combination of some or all of these techniques and other visual effects. The word "cinema", short for cinematography, is often used to refer to the industry of films and filmmaking or to the art of filmmaking itself. The contemporary definition of cinema is the art of simulating experiences to communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty or atmosphere by the means of recorded or programmed moving images along with other sensory stimulations.

Bolex 16mm Film Test: Desert New Year (in Slab City)
Some raw 16mm motion picture film footage that I shot while camping in "Slab City" during my road trip through the California desert over the holidays. There's also a minute or so at the end of me hanging out with good friends in Los Angeles on New Years Day. Telecine 16mm Abtaster
16mm telecine using an altered Meopta Club16 projector and a four-thirds reflex camera. Das hochwertige Laufwerk dieses Projektors habe ich nach Art einer Bandmaschine umgebaut und mit einer Four-Thirds-Kamera gekoppelt. Samyang 16mm f/2 ED AS UMC lens review with samples
Here we go with a lens that I really enjoyed working with. It's designed for APS-C cameras but it will fit full-frame as well...with vignetting. I love the 16mm focal length, and f/2 is a very nice maximum aperture for such a wide angle lens, and as for sharpness...well you'll have to watch and find out! Some additional tips and notes that I didn't mention in this video...
- You don't have to load film in the dark. You will expose a couple feet of film but the remaining 48 feet will be fine. Just make sure you load in a shaded area and not in direct sunlight.
- If you don't have an extra roll of 16mm film to practice loading your camera with, you can cut a few feet off of a fresh roll of 16mm film and just practice with that.
- http://K3camera.com is a great website to go to and is filled with tons of great info on learning more about the K3 camera.
- When your 16mm camera is not in-use its best to hold down the trigger and run out the drive spring so camera isn't wound.
- If your light meter doesn't go all the way down to "0" when sensor is covered, there is a flathead screw on the back that you can turn and fine tune your meter.
- If you are shooting outside with lots of light, you will insert the "high" slide plate found on the back of light meter into the light sensor. You will then line everything up with the "red arrow" instead of the "white arrow".
I will share a link of what I capture at the fair in a couple weeks !!!

Die Einzelbilder können mit Bildbearbeitungsprogrammen bearbeitet und am Schluß mit einer üblichen Zeitraffer-Software zu einem Film zusammengefügt werden.
