The neo-Nazi punching trend continues.
A man handing out neo-Nazi fliers on the California Polytechnic State University got slugged in the face by a masked assailant, campus police said.
The man was passing out fliers on the San Luis Obispo campus Wednesday, with Nazi symbols and the terms “American Nazi Party and Symbol of White Power.”
Police responded to an initial call about the man, but took no action because the fliers are protected free speech, according to the Mustang News student newspaper.
High school students give Nazi salute and shout ‘Heil Trump'
When the man returned the next day to hand out more fliers, a suspect with a covered face punched him and ran away.
The Nazi supporter declined to file a report, and the puncher hasn’t been identified. School police did not immediately return a call for comment.
The incident is similar to the attack last month on Richard Spencer, a white supremacist who has touted Nazi views and slogans. A masked man ran up to Spencer and clobbered him in the face as Spencer spoke to people on a Washington, D.C. street. The clip of the punch became an instant meme.
Another alt-right provocateur, Milo Yiannopoulos, spoke at the school Jan 31. His appearance led to protests where demonstrators burned Nazi flags, and the school spent $55,400 to hire 109 officers for security, although no violence broke out.
