HOW TO PARTICIPATE: To participate, go to the Web Site and click on the Submit Your Story link. Write a few paragraphs about the opportunities or needs that you address by working for GE and the solutions that you worked on to solve these problems. In addition, you are able to add photographs and video clips to your story on the Web Site. Some GE worksites prohibit or restrict recording (including photos and videos); check your business and site-specific recording policies before submitting a story here. Your story and the photographs and videos that you submit to the Web Site are hereinafter referred to as the “Submission”. Your Submission must be original, truthful, unpublished, created solely by you, and must not infringe upon any rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark and right of publicity and privacy. If you feature anyone other than yourself in your Submission, please obtain his/her permission first.
Access to and use of the Web Site is voluntary. However, by participating you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and consent to the use of your name and likeness, as well as your Submission, without additional compensation, for publicity purposes by GE to the extent allowed by applicable law.
TERMS OF SUBMISSION: GE employees’ Submissions are subject to the terms and requirements of The Spirit & The Letter, the GE Employee Intranet Guidelines and The Acceptable Use of GE Information Resources (http://sc.ge.com/*AUGIR), or your business’s substitute policy for The Acceptable Use of GE Information Resources. If your Submission contains material that is inconsistent with these policies, violent, pornographic, obscene, illegal, inappropriate or racially or morally offensive, or does not meet GE’s standards for any reason, as determined by GE in its sole discretion, it may be rejected as ineligible.
Any materials contained in the Submission that were created in the scope of your GE employment will be owned by GE. For all other materials, you hereby grant GE an irrevocable, perpetual and worldwide right and license to use these materials as contained in the Submission in all media, including but without limitation on the Web Site and on social media Web sites, such as Facebook or Twitter, and in advertisements and television commercials. You agree that: (i) GE has the right to alter and/or edit your Submission or any part or element thereof; and (ii) GE and its licensees, successors and assigns have the right to use any and all Submissions, and any and all names, likenesses, voices and images of any kind appear in the Submissions, for all future advertising, promotion and publicity in any manner and in any and all mediums now known or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity without additional compensation, notification or permission.
GE retirees’ Submissions are expected to meet the requirements outlined above and in the referenced policies.
GE’s designated representatives (“Moderators”) will review all Submissions received by the Web Site and will only post those Submissions on the Web Site that are consistent with the purposes and goals of the GE Works initiative and conform to these Terms and Conditions, as determined by the Moderators in their sole discretion. Decisions of the Moderators are final and binding.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Web Site, you agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless GE, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotions agencies, and each of their respective agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees (collectively, “GE Entities”) from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions and any liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in the Web Site. GE is not responsible for any entry miscommunications, such as technical failures related to computer, telephone, cable, and unavailable network or server connections, related technical failures, or other failures related to hardware, software or virus, or incomplete, late or misdirected entries. Any compromise to the fair and proper conduct of the Web Site related to your behavior, a computer virus, or other technical impairment, or any other factor that may affect the proper fairness, security and administration of the Web Site may result in the termination of the Web Site, or portion thereof or other modification of the Web Site at the sole discretion of GE.
The Web Site is governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any and all legal actions or claims arising in connection with the Web Site must be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of New York.
PRIVACY: By participating in the Web Site, you agree that certain personal information will be collected as part of your Submission (including first and last name, GE Single Sign On (SSO), email address, business organizational information and country), and that you may not be eligible to participate in the Web Site without providing this information. Any personal information collected during the course of your Submission will only be used for administering the Web Site and for purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
Posted content will be subject to global, cross-border processing, transfer and storage consistent with GE’s policies and practices (GE Employment Data Protection Standards); posted content will be visible to employees and contractors from across the Company, as well as the general public, and data may be accessed and stored outside of your home country.
The Company may monitor and measure usage of the Web Site.
SEVERABILITY: If any provision(s) of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO WIN. Contest Dates: The “My GE Story Contest” (“Contest”) sponsored by General Electric Company (“Sponsor”) begins September 9, 2015 and ends December 1, 2015 (“Contest Period”). Limit one entry per person. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Participants are responsible for checking applicable law and regulations in their jurisidictions before entering the Contest to make sure participation is legal. Subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Eligibility: Contest is open to all full-time and part-time employees of General Electric Company who are 21 years or older at the time of entry and who remain employed through receipt of prize. Temporary employees and contractors are not eligible to enter or win. Any decisions by Sponsor as to eligibility of participants and winners are final and binding.
How to Enter: Enter by submitting Video or Written Submission to www.mygestory.com (“Contest Website”) All stories already posted at the time the Contest begins will be eligible for all prizes and do not need to be resubmitted. Submissions should tell a GE Story about how you are helping deliver better outcomes for our customers, shareholders and the world, and/or creating a better, faster, simpler GE All Submissions must comply with the technical requirements set forth in Section 4 in order to be eligible. Limit of one (1) submission per person. If more than one (1) Submission is submitted only the first Submission received (based on date and time submitted to the Contest Website) will be eligible. Entry is not complete until you have properly followed all the online prompts and instructions to upload your submission.
Submission Technical/Creative Requirements:
Submissions must abide by all Terms & Conditions posted on www.mygestory.com and must not:
(i) include trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by you or used without permission (such as company names, music, photographs, works of art, or images published on or in websites, television, movies, or other media);
(ii) use individual or family names, in whole or in part (including your first or last name);
(iii) refer to public figures;
(iv) contain profanity, pornographic, or sexual content, content promoting alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms, or weapons, hateful content of any kind (including racism, sexism, etc.), content that promotes violence or harm to another living creature, or any other offensive, obscene, or inappropriate content;
(v) defame, misrepresent, or contain disparaging remarks about other people or companies, including, but not limited to the Sponsor;
(vi) promote a political agenda regardless of the political affiliation;
(vii) contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other identifying elements of any person, living or dead, without permission.
The Sponsor’s designated representatives (“Moderators”), will review all Submissions received to the Contest Website and will only post Submissions that conform to these Official Rules and the Terms and Conditions on www.mygestory.com (collectively, the “Official Rules”), as determined by the Moderators in their sole discretion (“Eligible Submissions”). Submissions that do not comply with these Official Rules, as determined in Moderators’ sole discretion, will be disqualified from the Contest and may not appear on the Contest Website. Decisions of the Moderators are final and binding.
Entry Terms: By entering, you warrant that your Submission, and all elements thereof satisfy the Official Rules. You also warrant that your Submission:
(i) has not previously been published or won an award or prize of any kind;
(ii) does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including but not limited to, copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, logos, contract and licensing rights, rights of publicity or privacy, moral rights, image rights or any other intellectual property rights;
(iii) is not subject to any third party agreements, and that the Sponsor will not be required to pay or incur any sums to any person or entity as a result of their use, exhibition, or exploitation of the idea or video or elements therein;
(iv) has written proof that required permits from local authorities and other permissions required to produce Submission have been obtained;
(v) does not contain any content that is likely to be considered offensive by the Sponsor or could adversely affect the name, reputation, or goodwill of the Sponsor;
(vi) does not feature, refer to, or mention any competing brands of the Sponsor.
Group entries will not be accepted. By entering the Contest, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all of the rights, licenses, and permissions from each person who helped to create or appear in the Submission. Sponsor may in its sole discretion request proof e.g. release form from other persons appearing in the Submission other than the entrant. If Sponsor determines, in its sole discretion, that you have breached a representation or warranty, your entry will be disqualified.
By entering, you agree that all submissions become (i) Sponsor’s property and will not be returned, (ii) Sponsor has the right to alter and/or edit the submissions or any part or elements thereof, and (iii) Sponsors and its licensees, successors and assigns have the right to use any and all submissions, and any and all names, likenesses, voices, and images of any kind appearing in the submissions, for all future advertising, promotion and publicity in any manner and in any and all mediums now known or hereafter devised through the world in perpetuity without additional compensation, notification, or permission.
WINNER SELECTION AND PRIZES: THE TOP TEN ELIGIBLE SUBMISSIONS THAT RECEIVE THE MOST “EYEBALLS” ON THE CONTEST WEBSITE WILL BE REVIEWED BY GE LEADERSHIP. FROM THESE SUBMISSIONS, THREE STORIES WILL BE SELECTED BY GE LEADERSHIP TO RECEIVE A $1000 GIFT CARD. IN ADDITION, THREE INDIVIDUALS WILL BE SELECTED FROM A RANDOM DRAWING FROM ALL ELIGIBLE SUBMISSIONS TO RECEIVE A $500 GIFT CARD.
Notification of Winners: All potential winners will be notified by email and will be required to provide their name, address, e-mail address, company name and title or position within from the date of the notification, or entrant will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner selected. By entering, potential winners agree that Sponsor shall not be liable for any injuries, losses or damages resulting from participation in this Contest or the acceptance or use of any prize.
Return of any prize notification as “undeliverable” will result in disqualification. In the event of disqualification of any potential winner, prize will be forfeited and an alternate potential winner will be selected from among all Eligible Submissions. Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for notifications that are misdirected, addresses that are no longer correct, or for any other reason beyond the control of the Sponsor.
Additional Contest Terms:. YOU ACCEPT THE CONDITIONS STATED IN THESE OFFICIAL RULES, AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES AND PUBLIC VOTING, WARRANT THAT YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST, AND AGREE TO RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, LOSSES, LIABILITY, AND DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, (INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEYS’ FEES AND EXPENSES) ASSERTED AGAINST ANY OF THEM, INCURRED, SUSTAINED, OR ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST AND THE USE, ACCEPTANCE, MISUSE, OR DONATION OF ANY PRIZE.
