Puddle of Mudd
Puddle of Mudd is an American rock band formed in 1991. To date the band has sold over seven million albums, and has had a string of No. 1 mainstream rock singles in the United States. Their major-label debut Come Clean has sold over five million copies. They have released two independent and four major albums, with their latest being Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate in December 2009, and their latest compilation album being re:(disc)overed, released in August 2011.
History
Early years (1991–2000)
Puddle of Mudd was formed on September 13, 1991 in Kansas City by Wes Scantlin (vocals/rhythm guitar), Jimmy Allen (guitar), Sean Sammon (bass), and Kenny Burkitt (drums). According to Wes Scantlin, the band name was inspired by practicing next to the Missouri river levy, which always inundated the band's practice space but never ruined their equipment since they were on the second floor. In order to get to their practice space, the band "had to walk through a pile of shit." The group's first album, Stuck, was released in 1994 on V&R Records. The album was produced by the band and E.J. Rose, and was recorded at Red House Studio in Lawrence, Kansas. It spawned two radio singles (the first was "You Don't Know", the second "Drift and Die").

Puddle
A puddle is a small accumulation of liquid, usually water, on a surface. It can form either by pooling in a depression on the surface, or by surface tension upon a flat surface.
A puddle is generally shallow enough to walk through, and too small to support a boat or raft. Puddles can be a source of fascination for children. Small wildlife may be attracted to puddles.
Natural puddles and wildlife
Puddles in natural landscapes and habitats, when not resulting from precipitation, can indicate the presence of a seep or spring. They can provide essential moisture for small wildlife, such as birds and insects. Many butterfly (Lepidoptera) species need puddles for mud-puddling to obtain nutrients such as salts and amino acids.
Swallows use the damp loam which gathers in puddles as a form of cement to help to build their nests. The reduction in the number of puddles in the countryside due to intensive farming, urban sprawl, and climate change is partially the cause of a decrease in the swallow population.

Geffen Records
Geffen Records is an American major record label, owned by Universal Music Group, which operates as one third of the Interscope Geffen A&M Records label. Today, it is headquartered in the city of New York and is headed by Gee Roberson, who reports to John Janick, CEO of Interscope Records.
History
Geffen Records was started in 1980 by music industry businessman David Geffen who, in the early 1970s, had founded Asylum Records. Geffen stepped down from Asylum in 1975, when he crossed over to film and was named a vice-president of Warner Bros. Pictures. He was fired from Warner circa 1978, but remained locked in a 5-year contract, which prevented him from working elsewhere. He returned to work in 1980 and struck a deal with Warner Bros. Records to create Geffen Records. Warner provided 100 percent of the funding for the label's operations and distributed its releases in the United States and Canada; Epic Records handled distribution in the rest of the world until 1985, when Warner Bros. also took over those territories. Profits were split 50/50 between Geffen and the respective distributors.

The album is extremely rare as it was an independent release with limited distribution. The band had said that if they ever get the chance, they would like to re-release this album. Abrasive is the debut studio album by Puddle of Mudd, released in 1997 on Hardknocks Records. The album is extremely rare as it was an independent release with limited distribution. The band had said that if they ever get the chance, they would like to re-release this album. As of 2014 the album has still not been reissued.
The tracks "Nobody Told Me", "Said", "Piss It All Away", and "Abrasive" were all rerecorded for Puddle Of Mudd's following album, Come Clean, but only the first three made it on most copies of the album. Some limited editions of Come Clean had "Abrasive" as a bonus track. The rerecorded version of "Abrasive" only appeared on a promo, but the Abrasive album version was included on the "Control" single and the special editions of Come Clean. The Abrasive version of "All I Ask For" also appeared as a B Side to "Blurry"
