Major Flood Warning for the lower Flinders River and Minor Flood Warning for
the Norman River

Flood Warning Number: 12

Major flood levels are easing slowly on the lower Flinders River at Walkers
Bend.

No significant rainfall was recorded over any of the Gulf River catchment areas
in the 24 hours to 9am Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible for the
region for the next few days but are not expected to worsen the current flood
situation.

Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
Major flooding continues along the lower Flinders River during Sunday morning.

The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 6.20 metres and falling. The
river level at Walkers Bend is expected to fall below the major flood level
(5.60 m) during Monday.

Norman River:
River level rises are expected along the Norman River during Sunday.

The Norman River at Normanton is currently at 1.46 metres and falling. The
river level at Normanton is expected to remain below the minor flood level
(2.00 m) during Sunday.

Remember: If it's flooded, forget it. For flood emergency assistance contact
the SES on 132 500. For life threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000)
immediately.
