Buggy as hell. Facebook login fell over then display name validation broke so can't create account. I just want to watch the Sydney FC game aaargh!

Trying to watch the young pope and it wouldn't let me watch ep. 4, said it was timed out. Rebooted my tablet to try and logout and then login again, but it still went straight back in without a login and still couldn't watch TYP. Started watching a movie, went out to check it on wikipedia, and it wouldn't let me back in to watch it. Timed out again. Why is it so hard to make these things run as they should? Is it beyond you?

I was just about ready to give up on SBS On Demand after a very frustrating attempt to watch "The Night Manager", which stalled during every ad. Yesterday while reviewing my apps I found that a new version (2.1) of this app was released on the 17th April, and updated mine. Success! The app now seems to behave well, and I watched a full episode of "The Night Manager" with the ads seamlessly starting and finishing as and where they should have. I will now "visit" more often, and I only rate this as less than 5 stars because it's more difficult to navigate than the "app" I used to be able to access on my Sony Blu-Ray player, before it was removed.

It requires improvement. It is not as good as Iview. The SBS app seems to pictulate or blur when casting to our TV with a Chromecast. The program selection is good. I hope you are able to improve the performance of the app. Thank you
Unusable. Entirely frustrating. Constantly jumps to an ad and then begins at the start of the program. Unable to fast forward or rewind. Really buggy. Shame, because there's great content.

Thanks for the feedback John. Glad all is well again. It requires improvement. It is not as good as Iview. The SBS app seems to pictulate or blur when casting to our TV with a Chromecast. The program selection is good. I hope you are able to improve the performance of the app. Thank you

Watching young pope Chromecast completely broken. Gets to an ad then resets and starts from the beginning of the episode
Quality is a bit low, and the ads are annoying. Plus, the volume of the ads is much louder than the shows. Needs hd streaming if they intend to tempt people away from pirating.
The programs keep stopping half way very disappointing, not just a one off all the time. And it is not registering when wanting to watch
Good content, but infested with technical issues when running. Crushing frequently.
Woeful and frustrating. Doesn't remember where you were up to in an episode and then won't let you fastforward either. Partcularly bad with Chromecast too
Sport is much harder to find compared with older version. Also lacks resume function. Older version was much better.
Doesn't work at all. Crashes and repeats adds ad infinitum.

Damian - if you haven't already get in contact with sbsondemandteam@sbs.com.au with your device details & where the crashing happens for you. Just reinstalled app to catch up with The night Manager. Very impressed with the great content and excellent Chromecast support. This might become my favourite media app!
Whats with the sign in? Could learn a thing or two from ABC Iview.

Thanks Craig. We've had the login requirement since late last year.
Not that this is a competition or anything but do you prefer iview because it doesn't have ads? Get in contact via sbsondemandteam@sbs.com.au - we'd like to hear more Great overhaul but pretty significant audio distortion issues between ads and video content while using Chromecast.
App would be much improved if the browsing list didn't reset every time I clicked to get more detail on a show

Thanks Damian. Noted. We've passed this on to our team. Good bed watching I love my daria and south park so keep on keeping it solidified

hi Rebus.
Sorry for the hassle. The app should work as expected. Special Broadcasting Service Corporation April 19, 2017
Cheers for the feedback Laura! If I need to (or accidentally) stop a video it always starts back at the beginning. I'm sure it used to pick up where I left off. I'd be great if it gave me the choice. When clicking on the featured shows at the top, it automatically plays the video, sometimes I just want to find out what it's about. Again, a choice would be great. Thanks for NOT replying to my previous message. Please read the comments below, there are many valid complaints. Seems nobody at SBS on Demand gives a hoot about the people watching it. Soon we will stop caring about you and get our entertainment elsewhere.
Ads make it crash When the Bundy ad finally plays all the way through ( last week I couldn't even do that) the shows seems to start and stutter. I can hear broken audio. Oddly, Ive ust watch all of Mammon and although there was no Resune function, it played without problems. Any show that has the ads first cant be watched
At the moment every time an add wants to play it turns off whatever i'm watching and plys 3 long adds at a time then when i go back to the program it makes me start at the beginning of the program and when i fast foreward to where i left off i have to sit thru another 3 adds. This happens 3 or 4 times per show its a hassle and wastes a lot of battery power
I love sbs Works flawlessly for me about 3 ads per show a small price to pay for free streaming. But I wish they would keep whole series online longer so you can watch the whole thing in one weekend. Good movie library if you like Indie & foreign films.
You have ruined Sbs on demand! Whats with all the ads guys? And the constant crashing. And where is the resume functionality? What was once the best ever app for watching best ever programs and movies has been disgracefully ruined and now unwatchable due to the never ending looping of pathetic ads. Sad. Dumb.
Useless!! This is the worst app I have yet come across. Why an account is needed is beyond me. However, having created an account only to find I am unable to verify it after repeated attempts. Forget about catching up on tv viewing, and more like wasting the rest of your evening being locked out of this app. I shall not waste any more time on it. I very much enjoy SBS but the app is a complete shambles.
Navigation is dreadful, if you click on an item it sends you back to the top of the page when you go back. The catch-up list has episode names but not show names. Lots of little things that add up to make it a pain to use. Pity, because there's some good content
This app does not work properly, requires a log in, forgets the log in then requires me to re log in. What is that about? I have scored 2 stars mostly because I love SBS. The app I score 0 there is nothing worse than a mandatory update to a new version that is not nearly as good as the previous version. This sucks please make the best channel worth watching again, fix the app.
Some thought to the UI wouldn't go astray. Eg: Lots of frustration browsing through videos, clicking a video to get the description, then clicking back to find myself thrown back to the top of the page rather than where I left it. Annoying enough that I am staying away for a couple of updates in the hope that it improves.
The programs available in the app are fantastic! As is search and saving favourites. Sadly it has trouble syncing with Chromecast, frequently drops out without resuming where it left you and forces you through more ads as you look for your place. Oh yeah and no casting from iPad, I thought I used to be able to.
The app frequently crashes when starting or finishing ad break. will not resume show to where was left off. It's making watching stuff near on impossible. It's really frustrating. What's going on with app? Ive looked at the comments and seen no replies from the developer. Do you even care about user experience? Please explain.....
All I wanted to watch was the last 10 minutes of Night Manager. Had to sit through 6 ads whilst trying to fast forward, only to have it rewind for some unknown reason, then had to sit through all the ads again to finally have it restart on its own accord. Make it a paid app or a paid service FFS.
Shocking! The number and frequency of commercials is ridiculous. Fast forwarding or rewinding induces them, always 2 at a time and also occured every 5 or so minutes during play. Made the doco I was watching and trying to pick up where I left off so annoying I gave up. Disappointing as sbs actually has a decent amount of good content....and I never want to see a bottle of Bundy ever again!
An extra star for Chromecast. However still poor and buggy UI. If you start watching one show from a series, then the whole series should pop up into what you last watched. To make it easy to continue the series. 2) What's with all the ads? Yes I understand but how dull. 3) Difference in ad to program volume is ridiculous. Because the ads are soooo loud, audio pops and squeaks when program resumed. Poor streaming when mixing different feeds from SBS.
well what a load of rubbish. after nightmare of signing up eventually managed, but just shows black screen on my android tv box. judging by other reviews, sbs might want to have a word with themselves
Love watching sbs but when using the app, shows constantly restart after ad breaks. More often than not this prevents you from being able to finish the show! Very frustrating! And this happens on mobile, tablet, smart TV and laptop. Pleeeeease fix soon.
Very poor service For such a great TV channel this app is appalling. The advertising is now highly intrusive and if you elect to rewind back to watch a segment again you invariably have too start with an advert yet again. The streaming quality is poor and far inferior to Netflix. I hardly use it now.
