These are the working groups active in the Twin Cities GDC, Local 14. Working groups are where the real work of the General Defense Committee takes place.

  1. Picket/Guard Training • [email]  
    Guard Training incorporates the planning and execution of direct action events, how to marshal rallies and marches, and tactical training in dealing with bodies in physical space.
  2. Tech Security • [email]
    Tech Security researches, trains, and implements technical security solutions for the GDC, as well as issuing related reports.
  3. Revolutionary Preparedness
    Revolutionary Preparedness trains members in the practices and strategies of preparing for future revolutionary moments, ranging from intelligence gathering to physical self defense.
  4. Antifa
    Antifa is the anti-fascist and anti-racist working group of the GDC; it is a closed working group for security purposes.
  5. Copwatch • [email]
    Copwatch is the GDC’s police monitoring and surveillance group, which takes to the streets with video cameras to film the police and inform people of their rights.
  6. Legal • [email]
    The Legal group intends to recruit people in the legal professions to the GDC, and hopes to set up legal systems of support for GDC and IWW members.
  7. Interview • [email]
    The Interview Working Group reaches out to new members, as well as members not currently involved in working groups, and attempts to match members with GDC projects, and help direct members to educational, political, and training resources of interest to the members.
  8. Harm Reduction • [email]
    Harm Reduction works to reduce the harm associated with drug use. Instead of taking a total abstinence (AA, NA, etc.) approach, Harm Reduction attempts to empower users by helping them organize their lives, reduce drug use-associated harm, reduce drug deaths (needle exchanges, nalaxone access, etc.), and to support those caught in the war on drugs.
  9. Propaganda • [email]
    Propaganda produces educational and informational materials for the GDC to distribute.
  10. Social • [email]
    Social WG  organizes events for GDC members to socialize and get to know each other better, thus building more trust and experience with those with whom we struggle.
  11. Survivor Support • [email]
    Survivor Support organizes structures and actions to support individual survivors, as well as to fight and defeat the scourge of sexual harassment and assault, in our communities, and if necessary, within our own structures.
  12. Movement Against Police Brutality • [email]
    The Movement Against Police Brutality Working Group organizes against the police state and police brutality, and coordinates with other similarly oriented groups.
