X-Files was the television show that introduced some many of us to some of the creepiest creatures like Flukeman and Beggar Man! It premiered in 2001 as the 10th episode from the 8th season of the acclaimed television series. This was after Mulder was replaced by Doggett which means the show was on its last legs, but despite that handicap, this creepy monster was gruesome enough to make the list. There's a particularly ghastly scene of him reaching his hand out of a corpse Scully is dissecting, giving this episode lots of shock, creeps and disgust points. A murderous Indian mystic who hides in the stomachs of his victims is pretty terrifying. With lots of blood and gore as well as the subtle legless pulling on those un-oiled wheels it's enough to keep you awake long past your bedtime. 3 - Flukeman Premiering in season 2, episode 2, entitled The Host, who could forget Flukeman. This creature was a form of quasi-vertebrate humanoid. Not much is known of this monster's origins, one clue is our first sight of it is on board a Russian freighter used in the disposal of salvage material from the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl. It is speculated that Flukeworm was born from the radioactive sewage. Possibly a botched cellular regeneration experiment from Russian scientists? Such as combining the cellular structures of humans and flatworms? After being born, the genetic freak found its way into the New Jersey sewer system where it wreaked havoc. Several people die from this creature drowning them to death, and the few who survived were later killed from the infected bite. The Flukeman searched for human hosts in order to multiply and attack because its victims provided generative nourishment, it would transmit its larvae through its deadly bite. Agent Mulder at the end of the episode was able to cut the creature in half, however, at the very end of the show, lurking inside the sewer, we see the creatures top half of its body begin to breathe and swim away, washing up inside Martha's Vineyard. 2 - Leonard Humbug, it's the 12th episode from the 4th season, Leonard Betts is actually an underdeveloped fetus residing deep inside his alcoholic twin named Larry. The brothe rs, which are quite grim, live in a Florida community filled with circus freaks, which helps sets the tone of the intensely creepy vibe for the episode. The startling revelation that Larry's twin has been detaching himself for decades in search of burrowing into new hosts is to say the very least, extremely unnerving. Plus that decaying skin and a ravenous set of teeth on the strange worm like fetus monster are just plain creepy. But it's the scene with the malformed monster literally ripping itself out of its brother and crawling inside one of the other circus freaks which really sets those nerves on edge. Be prepared for nightmares with this creepy x-files mutant monster. 1 - The Peacock Family These creepy almost crustacean looking human monsters are from the 2nd episode of the 4th season called Home. This time around Mulder and Scully find themselves in rural America investigating the death of an infant with severe, and I mean severe, birth defects. It was so graphic and disturbing, in fact, that it earned itself the very first viewer discretion warning for the show. Every member of the Peacock Family is horrifying and disgusting, but lurking under the bed is the creepiest amputee you will ever see. Plus two of these horrendous characters escape with grisly plans of starting a new, even more malformed family! With gritty details of incest, rape and babies being buried alive, these creepy characters have earned their spot on the top of this list as the creepiest creations to have ever been spawned from this 90s classic television show.
