Greetings, dear classical music lovers! I want to share with you a short Baroque work for trumpet, organ and timpani. I discovered this beautiful piece 3 days ago in a movie. Unfortunately, I don't know the title and the author. I think that the composer is Telemann, but I'm not sure. He can be also Molter, even Handel. I explored the Internet, but since now I haven't find out anything about this piece. I hope you (or one of you) will recognize it and will help me with an answer. The mezzo soprano Marianne Lihannah sings verse 1 of this divine processional Marian hymn which couldn't have been composed before year 1220. It is by 'Perotin' also known as 'Perotin Magister' or 'Perotin the Great' or 'Magister Perotinus'
The words are by Phillip de Chancellor a French Theologian and Latin Medieval Lyric Poet.

I hope you enjoy this, - I was inspired to record it after listening to 'Vox Clamantis, weekend Guitar Trio's wonderful recording of it. And I am grateful to my singing teacher Michael Deason-Barrow for giving lots of help with interpreting this ancient notation and with singing this beautiful Gregorian Chant. I am also very thankful to Greg Tricker for letting me use photos of his stunning art work of Mary.

Greetings, dear classical music lovers! I want to share with you a short Baroque work for trumpet, organ and timpani. I discovered this beautiful piece 3 days ago in a movie. Unfortunately, I don't know the title and the author. I think that the composer is Telemann, but I'm not sure. He can be also Molter, even Handel. I explored the Internet, but since now I haven't find out anything about this piece. I hope you (or one of you) will recognize it and will help me with an answer. The words are by Phillip de Chancellor a French Theologian and Latin Medieval Lyric Poet.
Blessed be the womb of the virgin Mary, at whose breast the King of illustrious name, concealing in another guise the power of his divinity, has sealed a pact between God and Man'.

The mysteries of the Mosaic Law are resolved. The tree sprung from the mystic rod, unknown in nature. Water gushing from the stone, a pilar showing the way to God's people are favourable signs.

The eye cannot bear to look freely on the sun, as it rises in the air in all it's purity. Then let it behold that sun from the side, as it is reflected, in the womb of a pregnant woman, where it is enclosed entire.

I hope you enjoy this, - I was inspired to record it after listening to 'Vox Clamantis, weekend Guitar Trio's wonderful recording of it. And I am grateful to my singing teacher Michael Deason-Barrow for giving lots of help with interpreting this ancient notation and with singing this beautiful Gregorian Chant. I am also very thankful to Greg Tricker for letting me use photos of his stunning art work of Mary.
