Fun holiday activities
From amusement parks and playgrounds to special holiday exhibitions and events, NSW has many attractions to keep the kids active and entertained. Treetop adventure parks are popular with kids for climbing trees and soaring on zip-lines or flying foxes.
Take the kids to a treetop adventure park, which have specially designed harnesses to keep the kids safe as they climb trees and glide on zip-lines or flying foxes. You’ll find treetop adventure parks on the South Coast, Central Coast and North Coast.
After fun at Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures, south of Sydney, drive to the toboggans and giant waterslides at Jamberoo Action Park in Jamberoo. Check opening days for the Action Park before you plan your trip. You can also have fun golfing with kids on the 18-hole putt putt course at Illawarra Golf Complex and Crazy Putt in Windang, 25 minutes' drive from Jamberoo.
When planning your holiday check out the events calendar for special exhibitions for kids at museums and galleries during school holidays. Accommodation options are available throughout NSW to suit a range of budgets, and you'll find plenty of things to do and see for the whole family.
Massive trampolines, foam pits and skate ramps are all features of the Flip Out Trampoline Arena, found at various locations across NSW, including Dubbo, home of the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, and Gosford, near the Australian Reptile Park and Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park. In Coffs Harbour bounce on trampolines and then visit the Butterfly House.
Thrill the kids with go-karting at Go Karts Go in Newcastle. Farther north at Macadamia Castle, in Ballina, kids can cuddle nursery animals, play mini golf and ride a miniature train ride. If you're on the South Coast, kids can ride the rollercoaster or magic carpet slide at Magic Mountain in Merimbula, where you can also take whale-watching cruises with Merimbula Marina.
