Dash cam footage captured one Canberra driver's nasty bump on Saturday night when a white Land Cruiser hit their Suzuki before speeding off through a red light.
Footage released by police shows the Suzuki driver heading down Cooyong Street in Civic at 8pm on Saturday 18 February.
Both travelling in the same direction, the Land Cruiser appears from a driveway, cuts across three lanes and then hits the side of the Suzuki before it peels out, runs a red light and flees the scene.
ACT Policing are seeking witnesses to the incident.
Police said it was an offence for people involved in a collision not to exchange details and all collisions must be reported to police within 24 hours.
Officer in Charge of Traffic Operations Acting Station Sergeant Marcus Boorman said motorists and cyclists should consider dash cams or helmet cameras as the footage could help police if an incident ever occurred.
"This footage allows police an impartial account of what occurred and provides investigators with a line of enquiry if required," Mr Boorman said.
