Macquarie Dictionary names "fake news" its Word Of The Year for 2016

Macquarie Dictionary has named "fake news" its Word Of The Year for 2016.

The term, which shot to prominence during the US election, is defined as "disinformation and hoaxes published on websites for political purposes or to drive web traffic; the incorrect information being passed along by social media".

Ross and John spoke with Susan Butler, editor of the Macquarie Dictionary, about the decision.
