Developers who illegally demolished a Carlton pub, and promised to rebuild it, are fighting a state government reconstruction order.
Bill Kusznirczuk, Urban Planning Expert and Managing Director of Clement Stone Town Planners tells Ross and John the current legislation needs to be reviewed.
"The simplest response is to introduce legislation that requires this site to be rebuilt as it was originally was 159 years ago, and rebuilt as sympathetically as it possible can in a heritage context."
Mr Kusznirczuk says a similar incident is ongoing in west London with a pub at the moment.
