The nominations for the biggest and most prestigious awards in film, the 89th Academy Awards®, have recently been announced. We now know who’s in the race, but which films and nominees will take home the coveted Oscar®?
Join host Matthew Burgess (National Entertainment Editor) along with Karl Quinn (National Film Editor) and Sandra Hall (Film Critic) – as they look back at the year in film, assess the nominations, and share their predictions ahead of the 89th Academy Awards®.
After the discussion, enjoy a screening of the Academy Award® nominee for Best Picture, Hidden Figures, with complimentary popcorn (of course!) as well as pre-discussion drinks and canapés.
Hidden Figures stars Golden Globe Award®-winners, Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer, alongside Janelle Monáe. Three brilliant African-American women at NASA cross all gender and race lines to inspire future generations to dream big.
This event is exclusive to subscribers of The Age. Tickets are just $15 for subscribers and their guests, and include pre-event drinks and canapés (6.00pm), discussion (6.30pm-7.15pm) and a screening of the Oscar® nominated film Hidden Figures (7.15pm-9.00pm).
