His real identity has been revealed and he helped the FBI bust the rest[edit]
His real name is Hector Xavier Monsegur and in multiple new articles it confirms it.
He also worked with the FBI to lessen his own charges and aided in the arrest of the other 5 top LulzSec members.
Someone please update this article.

Confused why Monsegur's status as an FBI informant was preceded by "allegedly". This is a documented fact. See: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204603004577269844134620160.html
[he was placed under supervision by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents shortly after he was arrested at 10:15 p.m. on June 7 last year. His file was sealed by a judge. "Since literally the day he was arrested, the defendant has been cooperating with the government proactively," sometimes staying up all night engaging in conversations with co-conspirators to help the government build cases against them, Assistant U.S. Attorney James Pastore said at a secret bail hearing on Aug. 5, 2011, according to a transcript released on Thursday.] Ellie Dahl (talk) 04:22, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
doxing[edit]
Plan to edit the section called Identity to give a brief, but more broad review of the many sources who tagged his real ID, as well as a the few mistaken IDs. Right now it reads like it is all about The Jester. Going to modify it to include the correct hits on Monsegur from many sources and shift the tone to a more neutral collection instead of a Jester focus. Feel free to assist. My citations, sadly, always need a little expert tweaking Ellie Dahl (talk) 14:20, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

After looking at ways to rewrite the Identity section, I propose it be deleted. His ID is known. It made sense to have that section before he was ID'd, but now it isn't necessary. Anyone want to advise on this? Thx Ellie Dahl (talk) 16:15, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Picture?[edit]
Is it at all possible we could get the picture of him that surfaced after he got arrested on there? I was thinking a thumbnail of him above where all the bio-info was. Anyone else's thoughts? Tuxmascot (talk) 21:07, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- If he was arrested by the FBI, there should be a freely licensed mugshot somewhere. Ciaran Sinclair (talk) 18:03, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Current Activities[edit]
Removed the following sentence as there was no citation. It is desirable to say something about his current activities but it needs to be properly sourced.
"The virtual organization created by him continues to take responsibility for invading institutional sites and profiles in South American left wing countries like Venezuela and Brazil, which may suggest he has followers and associates or goes on with his criminal activities."steven (talk) 12:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Requested move 12 January 2015[edit]
- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: To be Moved. No objections, and seems sensible. Note: move requires admin assistance, which I will request. (non-admin closure) — Amakuru (talk) 16:06, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Hector Xavier Monsegur → Hector Monsegur – There is no other Hector Monsegur for now. The proposed name is also commonly used. Perhaps if there is another, re-add "Xavier" in another time? --Relisted. Sunrise (talk) 00:52, 20 January 2015 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 22:39, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
