Flock – Houston Zoo Young Supporters
Flock is the Zoo’s donor club for young professionals and encourages involvement for Zoo enthusiasts age 21 and up. Annual memberships are $150 for a Flock individual membership or $250 for a Flock Plus membership and include a Zoo membership, three “wild” cocktail parties and the annual Beastly Brunch.

Houston Zoo Ambassadors
The Houston Zoo Ambassadors is a growing group of young professionals and philanthropists who are actively seeking opportunities to connect and engage with the Zoo’s mission. Annual memberships are $500 and include exclusive invitations to the Ambassadors Gala, cocktail receptions and family events at the Zoo.

The Asante Society
The Zoo’s upper-level giving society is exclusively for donors who contribute a minimum of $1,200 annually. Asante Society memberships include a number of special benefits, including behind-the-scenes tours of the Zoo and invitations to private parties and family events.

The John and Ingrid Werler Society was named in honor of long-time Zoo Director, John Werler, and his wife Ingrid, whose impact on the Houston Zoo spanned four decades. This society is an honorary group created to recognize and thank members and friends who provide for the future success and stability of the Zoo by including a gift in their estate plan. Many times, a planned gift allows individuals to make a much more significant contribution than what they are able to give otherwise. These types of gifts may also provide donors with a variety of tax and estate benefits to meet individual needs. Volunteers work in every department of the zoo including animal care, education, and guest services. Volunteering at the zoo is a serious commitment; teen volunteer positions are typically for the summer or fall, intern positions for the summer, spring or fall semesters, while adult volunteers serve for at least a year – some volunteers have been with us for a decade or more!
