The Association is open to all qualified Youth Workers, those studying in Youth Work courses and in certain circumstances those without formal qualifications but with extensive youth work experience.
The constitution of the YWA currently recognises Youth Work and Youth Studies degree qualifications gained through RMIT University, Victoria University, Australian Catholic University, University of Western Sydney and Edith Cowen University as meeting the requirement for full membership and a TAFE level diploma of youth work as qualifying for Associate membership.
Additionally, we have also developed an alternative experience based pathway to membership.

Why become a financial member?
By becoming a financial member you are supporting the work of the YWA. We are building a Professional Association that is focused on profiling the key skills, knowledge and professional frameworks of Youth Work. We will continue to look for opportunities to work with the peak body and the union and the Government to improve the profile of Professional Youth Workers.
