A 60-metre bomb from captain Erin Phillips has given Adelaide a three-point, come from behind win over Carlton in Sunday's AFL Women's game.

The Crows trailed at every break until Phillips pounced on a loose ball in the final term, kicked long and bounced it through for the 2.5 (17) to 2.2 (14) win at Thebarton Oval.

Phillips dominated the final term finishing with 19 possessions to ensure her side remained undefeated.

Sally Riley kicked the other goal for the Crows while Darcy Vescio and Sarah Hosking kicked Carlton's two majors.

Kicking with the aid of a stiff breeze the Blues kicked the opening goal of the game deep in the first quarter when Vescio marked strongly 30 metres out and kicked truly.

She was the dominant forward in the quarter, as the Crows struggled in the blustery conditions, dropping a string of easy marks.

Carlton's defence was also a factor with Blues' players too tall and continually first to the contest.

Adelaide had its chances in the second term but could not register a major, their best opportunities a couple of wayward set shots, as Brianna Davey constantly thwarted attacks on the way to a game-high 24 disposals.

Other major ball winners for Carlton were Danielle Hardiman with 15 possessions and Lauren Arnell with 14.

For the Crows, Chelsea Randall had 17 and Ebony Marinoff 15.
