Motorcycle giant Honda has responded to local regulatory environment developing a unique specification side-by-side for the Australian market.

Set to arrive later in February, Honda says the Pioneer 700 two and four seater range has been carefully designed for the needs of our Aussie farmers.

The company said Honda side by side engineers conducted “extensive research in conjunction with several farming communities in Australia, to further understand what was needed in the extreme and unique conditions down under”.

The result is the Pioneer 700-2 and 700-4 featuring electric power steering and fully automatic transmission with a manual mode that can be activated via a dash-mounted toggle switch.

The auto transmission is all-gear to eliminate any belt issues.

Paddle shifters change the cogs in manual mode and to override shift points on the fly, in automatic mode.

A ‘quick flip’ seating design is also available in the Pioneer 700-4, which allows the two rear seats to fold into the tray so that owners can select between two, three or four-seat configurations.

There is a new driver seatbelt interlock to ensure drivers wear their seatbelt while operating the machine and speed is also limited when the seatbelt is not engaged.

New passenger and driver torso bars also offer enhanced occupant safety.
