Citroen uncorked its new E Lifestyle product collection at the Paris Motor Show last year and, at the Geneva Motor Show in a few weeks, we’ll see this – the Spacetourer 4x4 E Concept.

A 4x4 version of its van, Citroen says the Spacetourer 4x4 E concept targets “today’s tribes looking to enjoy their leisure activities in style and with a relaxed attitude”.

And while the Spacetourer 4x4 is being shown as a concept, a potential ‘giveaway’ is included in the media material where Citroen says the 4WD technology developed by Automobiles Dangel “is feasible on the production version of the Space Tourer” (also sold as the Peugeot Traveller and Toyota ProAce).

The current van is available in three body sizes (XS, M and L). The 4x4 E version to be shown in Geneva is based on the compact XS version and runs a raised ride height, skid plates front and rear and the dark-chrome 19-inch wheels feature tyres with snow chains.

Adorned in camouflage graphics, the Citroen Space Tourer 4x4 E Concept measures 4.6-metres in length and, despite that raised ride height, is under 2.0-metres in height.

Able to seat up to nine people, the Space Tourer has a large glasshouse to optimize the light, airy feel inside and features sliding side doors which have a ‘touch-free’ operation and a trim in leather/Alcantara/cloth in the French red-white-blue colours. There is 74-litres of storage space on-board.

Also included are leather straps (an idea from the C4 Cactus) and highlights taken from the E Lifestyle clothing collection.

Under the bonnet is Citroen’s BlueHDi 150 turbo-diesel engine driving through a six-speed manual transmission and switchable 4WD (controlled by a thumbwheel on the dashboard).

And there’s plenty of technology too, including a roof-mounted rear camera which transmits a 180-degree image onto the seven-inch touchscreen and new telematics such as a ‘Mirror Screen’ which replicates smartphone apps on the seven-inch tablet and the latest Citroen Connect nav with 3D maps and voice recognition.
