If you submit a photograph or video, you do so in accordance with the following:
In contributing to ABC News you agree to grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish and otherwise use, and to license third party content platform providers to publish and use, the material in any way that we want, and in any media worldwide. This may include the use of your photos or video on ABC television, syndication to and transmission of the material by our Australian and overseas content partners.
You still own the copyright to everything you contribute to ABC News. If your photo(s) and/or video is accepted, we will endeavour to give you credit on publication, should you require it and where it is practical to do so. The ABC reserves the right to determine what photos and video will be used and we reserve the right to edit your comments.
In contributing these images, you warrant that you are the copyright holder or have the permission of the copyright holder to send us the images and to use them as described above, that you have permission of anyone appearing or performing in the material, including from the parent or guardian of anyone under the age of 18, and that you are not infringing any person's rights by submitting the material to the ABC on the terms set out above.
At no time should you infringe any laws in obtaining the images or sending them to us for publication.
Please ensure you keep your own copies of any material that you submit as the ABC may not archive, store or back-up such material nor continue to make the material accessible online.
What we require
You can submit video and photographs.
- Do not send images that have been manipulated in a digital editing program.
- Please only send us photos of your own work, or photos you have permission to send on to us for publication.
- Make sure you provide some relevant information about the picture: location, photographer and a brief description what's happening.
Please provide a contact number or valid return email address in case we need to check with you about the details of the photograph.
Our use of photographs and videos will be governed by the ABC's editorial policies.
