The SSA Competition Committee is offering any qualified Junior pilot a rebate of 90% of their contest fees for a sanctioned Regional or National contest during the 2017 season.

As a result of moving the SSA Web Site to a new server and recent efforts by Titian Scholtemeyer, the SSA's Soaring Archive is complete from 1937 through 2016.  It is word searchable with over 34 million words indexed.  As Titian commented, "That's a lot of information."  The Internet is in transition to HTML5 and the Soaring Archive will present that way in the future.  However, it is currently rendering in Flash.  If your browser won't render the current archive, try another browser, or turn Flash back on, if possible.  Chrome will likely be the first to display issues with Flash.

The FAA issued a letter of clarification on the the differences in wording regarding exempt  aircraft as described in FARs 91.215 and 91.225.  Essentially, the FAA has indicated that the wording differences are unintentional and therefore aircraft exempt under 91.215 are also exempt under 91.225.
