Mornington Peninsula Human Rights Group

Promoting understanding of, and respect for, human rights

Who we are

We are a small group of citizens living on the Mornington Peninsula who are committed to promoting understanding of and respect for human rights in our municipality and beyond.

People from many backgrounds are involved. Some have an ongoing commitment to our work and regularly participate in our monthly meetings, others have limited their involvement to supporting particular projects. We maintain a database of people who wish to be kept informed about our activities. We publish an email newsletter called Connect.

While we value the help of people with professional knowledge and skills, we are not a professional group offering legal advice, counselling services or assistance in advocacy. All our work is done by volunteers. Our membership fees are $20 p.a.

We continue to be very grateful for the support we receive from the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and its officers.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our regular monthly meetings.

Time: 2.00pm, first Monday of the month except January.

Location: the Rosebud offices of the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, 90 Besgrove Street, Rosebud

Contact acting Secretary, Kevin Bain mob. 0413 427 851 or kbkevinbain@gmail.com

Our June 5 2017 meeting is at Willum Warrain, the aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander meeting place, located at 10A Pound Road Hastings, located off the Frankston-Flinders Rd, about 1 kilometre south of the Hastings shopping centre. If you need  transport, let me know and I'm sure we can arrange something.
