National Allied Health Conference 2017: Call for abstracts 
You are invited to submit an abstract or poster proposal for presentation at the 12th National Allied Health Conference which will run from the 26th to 29th August 2017.  Proposals should address the theme of "Stronger Together: responsive services, reliable systems and resilient workforce" and be relevant to allied health professionals working in all sectors. Abstracts must be submitted by the 17th of February. Mentoring to assist with abstract preparation is available from the scientific committee.

Introducing the National Health Services Directory

AHPA continues to work with Healthdirect Australia and our association members to improve the presence of allied health practitioners in the National Health Services Directory (NHSD). The directory is a key source of information to assist health professionals seeking other health professionals to refer patients to. It also provides an important source of information for people in the community looking for a health service. We encourage you to find out more and to register your practice.

Strategic Plan for the Allied Health Sector 
During 2015, allied health professionals, general practitioners and public health organisations came together for a series of ‘Strategic Thinking of Allied Health Services in Primary Care’ workshops. Those workshops resulted in the Strategic Plan for the Allied Health Sector document, a great overview of the ideas, views and suggestions of the organisations involved in the development of this document.
