Lab technicians are required by medical, pathology, biological, engineering or other chemical laboratories. The laboratory technician is responsible for overseeing laboratory staff and undertake more complex lab testing and sampling work. Laboratory technicians work as part of a scientific team, sampling, testing and analysing test results. This work is usually undertaken as part of scientific and medical research and development. The laboratory technician has an important role overseeing lab functioning. This includes basic staff training and management, stock control as well as research and development responsibilities.
