People may not know this, but another name for a home manager is a butler. Although in some settings the two terms are literally interchangeable, their responsibilities, duties, and qualifications are virtually identical.
Some home managers are employed in more residential settings, but they are also just as useful in the business world. In the business world, a house manager may be in charge of a living facility, and assist its residents; on the other hand, in a domestic setting the house manager would take care of the needs of the household.
There is a wide range of responsibilities that a home manager would have, such as ensuring that all staff have proper training, creating staff work schedules, ensuring that the house maintains cleanliness so it is safe for all residents and creating a budget and making sure that it is followed by staff members.
Every company and household has their own definition of a house manager, but the most basic responsibilities and skills of a house manager may include completing reports every month regarding the facility or household, document all issues that may occur in the home such as incidents or accidents, handle all training for employees and prepare and oversee all meetings.
