A day after veteran tackles Ryan Clady and Kelvin Beachum had their 2017 options declined, thus making them free agents, the Miami Dolphins will reportedly add another to the pool by releasing two-time Pro Bowler Branden Albert.

UPDATE 2:15 p.m.: Albert wasn't cut on Thursday, with the Miami Herald reporting that there was "sudden and significant interest from at least one and perhaps other teams in acquiring Albert" after news of his impending release broke.

The 32-year-old Albert signed a five-year, $47 million deal with the Dolphins in 2014, but his three-year career in Miami was marred by injuries and a decline in play, including a 2016 season when he ranked 65th out of 78 tackles graded by Pro Football Focus. But just one year removed from a Pro Bowl berth following the 2015 season, Albert could be an intriguing target for the tackle-needy Seattle Seahawks.

The free agent class of tackles was perceived to be fairly weak ahead of this week's additions, with 35-year-old Bengals veteran Andrew Whitworth being the most attractive target likely to hit the market. Now Albert -- whom some analysts believe would be better served moving inside to guard -- Clady and Beachum represent potentially interesting veteran options for teams like Seattle that could use an influx of talent at the position, though each player comes with injury concerns and inconsistent play over the past few seasons.

The Dolphins released defensive end Mario Williams a year after signing him to a two-year, $17 million deal.
