Ask anyone buying a house right now and they'll tell you it's a tough market. But there are diamonds in the Seattle rough – some of them are even listed below the median asking price.

According to a report from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service (MLS), King County claimed the highest median price for single-family homes sold last year, at $548,000, among the 23 counties in the MLS service area.

That's a 14 percent raise over 2015, when the median price of a single family home was $480,000.

That rise didn't stop units from being sold, however; MLS reports that 27,137 units were sold in King County in 2016, compared to 2015's 26,693.

If you want to look somewhere very cheap, you can check out some listings in Ferry County, where the median home went for only $102,500. But if you're married to the King County area (as many are) there are still some good homes to be found.
