Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, & Beyoncé (all mf'ing LEGENDS) have been nominated for AOTY 3x each. Of all that, Whitney one once. WHAT?!?!?

that's the way too quick history of black women in the AOTY category at the #Grammys & the awards & the @RecordingAcad should be ASHAMED.

all the innovative, incredible work/music by black women over these years never recognized by #Grammys, not even nominated. criminal.

yes, more black men have been nominated & won AOTY -- but not by much. & intersectionality necessitates looking to black women specifically.

now think about the enormous influence of black women on ALL music--they created it all. & then look at those paltry statistics. Oh.
