The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in North America, and is widely considered to be the premier men's professional basketball league in the world. It has 30 franchised member clubs (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada), and is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB), which is recognized by FIBA (also known as the International Basketball Federation) as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. The NBA is one of the four major North American professional sports leagues. NBA players are the world's best paid sportsmen, by average annual salary per player.
The league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The league adopted the name National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949, after merging with its rival National Basketball League (NBL). The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in New York City. NBA Entertainment and NBA TV studios are directed out of offices located in Secaucus, New Jersey.
The Chicago Bulls are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Bulls compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member team of the league's Eastern Conference Central Division. The team was founded on January 16, 1966. The team play their home games at the United Center, an arena shared with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Bulls saw their greatest success during the 1990s. They are known for having one of the NBA's greatest dynasties, winning six NBA championships between 1991 and 1998 with two three-peats. All six championship teams were led by Hall of Famers Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and coach Phil Jackson. The Bulls are the only NBA franchise to win multiple championships and never lose an NBA Finals series in their history.
The Bulls won an NBA record-72 games during the 1995–96 NBA season and are the only team in NBA history to win 70 games or more in a single season. Many experts and analysts consider the 1996 Bulls to be one of the greatest teams in NBA history. As of 2016, the Bulls are the third most valuable NBA franchise according to Forbes, with an estimated value of $2.3 billion, earning approximately $67.6 million in operating income from the 2015–16 NBA season. Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose have both won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award while playing for the Bulls, for a total of six MVP awards.
Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.
The Bulls traded their only truly competent three-point shooter, Doug McDermott. Since they can't just pretend it's 1982 and stop shooting threes entirely, that means the long-distance slack needs to be picked up somewhere else. Enter... Denzel Valentine? If this game is anything to go by, yes! Valentine is the three-pointer shooter they always needed, and wouldn't you know he was on the roster for the whole season but Hoiberg hates him so he never gets to play! Wow! Ignore all those other games (all except one) where he didn't do anything, ignore the mere 25 threes he made on the season before tonight, ignore his 31 percent shooting, just ignore it. It's so much more fun to be positive and to let one-game-large sample sizes affect your entire view of player. Reality is for the weak. Dare...

Well, this was unexpected. Denzel Valentine has not been good at basketballing so far this year. That's an understatement, but I'm not going to tell you how much of an understatement it is. If you're a Bulls fan, you already know, and you're breathing the hugest sigh of relief ever right now. If you're not a Bulls fan, all you know is that he won a bunch of NCAA awards, but you haven't heard a single thing about this dude since he got drafted. Bulls fans will know that this single performance doesn't mark the end of the road for Valentine on his way back to respectability. Other NBA onlookers run the risk of letting this performance shape their entire view of him, and I say, why not? Why not judge players solely on their most productive games? I'm the one enabling this behavior by only s...

This was not a good game for the Bulls. Not at all. I'm actually really surprised that I even get to do a vid on one of their players tonight, because, as a team, they were building a whole new practice facility with all their bricks. So, instead of watching the game, I amused myself by watching Bulls fans implode on various social media platforms. You have to find entertainment where you can. Denzel Valentine had one of his better scoring games of the season, putting up 13, most of them during a 3-minute stretch of the 3rd quarter. If the Bulls are gonna get back in the playoff race, they're gonna need him to start hitting some threes consistently. A modern NBA team can't work without outside shooting, and Valentine is one of the few hopes for that skill in Chicago. Him and Anthony Morro...
