Welcome to StopGreed.org, a project dedicated to exposing the corporate fronts trying to make a quick buck by conning the people of Washington State into voting for ill-conceived initiatives that would weaken or privatize public services.
The corporate operatives behind Initiatives 1053, 1082, 1107, 1100, and 1105 are going to be spending a lot of money over the next few months in an attempt to purchase your vote, hoping to prey on your fears and anxieties about the economy. They’ll be running ads urging you to vote yes on their measures to save jobs and save the state money.
Don’t be fooled by their deception and their Orwellian rhetoric.
The truth is, the measures they’ve sponsoring would actually destroy jobs, increase our state’s budget deficit, and cripple vital public services that we rely on.
The only reason these measures are on the ballot is because powerful corporations collectively shelled out millions of dollars to force the rest of us to vote on their schemes. They bought their way onto the ballot. They bought the signatures they needed.
Now they’re trying to buy our votes.
Enough is enough. Let these corporations know: Washington is not for sale. We won’t be tricked into helping them maximize their profits at the expense of our state’s environmental health and economic security.
