a small discussion
(between 3 poets)
about experimental Poetry
and free verse that one Poet
is really
tax and meaning, breath and seme, to the extent that language once
more-and those fine vapours of thought that weave in and out of
it-come more clearly into focus. When you catch Brown twilighting a remix age parunoiacally,it becomes more noticeable that only
some theories are conspiracies. In other words Browris eye is often
online, but also directed towards the poet's stars (as a recent review
by Justin Clemens suggested). It's everywhere but not without its
situatedness. It's home, it's here and now, and sometimes laughout-loud funny, but there's something else more general in these
poems, a more universal address: 'we want/to see the world/as we
want it to be' ('More than a feuilletori), even if it's unclear as to
who, exactly, is speaking. There are so many Poems to like in this
volume, and so many that have aLready imprinted themselves somewhere deeply preconscious. Home by Dark is a valuable addition
for readers new and old who are familiar with Brown's work and a
really brilliant stand-alone performance in itself. Encore! Encore!
