Senior Social Editor (San Francisco)
WIRED is seeking an experienced and creative leader to make sure our readers encounter our amazing stories on any and every platform: a strong individual with a diverse background and experiences that will help bring WIRED to every corner of the world. This will require a powerful strategy, strong partnerships, proven tactics, and a deep, optimistic appreciation for the future of business, design, culture, gear, science, security, and transportation. The Sr. Social Editor will act as the liaison between WIRED and social companies like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, Pinterest, and Snapchat. This person will oversee the WIRED social strategy, help create shareable content, and ensure the WIRED.com homepage is dynamic. Qualified candidates should be steeped in the latest social media trends, enjoy a fast-paced environment with a real-time, nimble editorial strategy, and be a numbers monster able to make effective use of data analysis. More than 5 years’ editorial experience required. The role will report to the Executive Editor and is based in San Francisco, managing one social media manager based in NY.
Associate Editor, Products (San Francisco)
We’re looking for a creative, collaborative editor with a strong interest in technology to help conceive and produce stories for the Gear sections of WIRED.com and WIRED magazine. This is no mere gadget reviewer gig; WIRED looks to the future, and any subject we tackle is a lens through which to see it. The Gear desk is no different; the products we use are literally changing the world and we want to talk about how. We’ll tell these stories through every form of media available: from reported articles and reviews to podcasts and videos—and whatever else you can think of. The Associate Editor, Products is a San Francisco-based position and reports to WIRED’s Products Editor.
