Program history

ABC TV launched The 7.30 Report in 1986.

The program was state-based until the end of 1995, with presenters around the country including Trisha Goddard, Mary Delahunty, Alan Carpenter, Genevieve Hussy, Andrew Olle and Quentin Dempster.

In 1996, one of Australia's most respected and experienced journalists, Kerry O'Brien, became presenter and editor of a national 7.30 Report and he anchored the program until the end of 2010.

On Monday 7 March, 2011, the program went to air with a new look, a new name, and new hosts, Leigh Sales and Chris Uhlmann.
