The Gummi ship mission madness continues with the Hollow Bastion missions.
First, the party prepares for Hollow Bastion's Gummi Mission 1 (time 0:33). The mission requires using only Ultima-G lasers as weapons. Starting from Neverland, they must shoot down at least 130 enemy ships on the way to Hollow Bastion.
After preparing, they set out from Neverland on Hollow Bastion's first mission (time 2:02). There are only four Ultima-G launchers available, and they do not have the fastest refire rate, but the blasts are powerful and ricochet a great deal. With all the Specials and Powers potentially available, power should be no problem here. Most of the enemy ships will be along the wall in the latter part of the course. If the party goes by the wall slowly and targets enemy ships carefully, there should be little problem meeting the mission goal.
At the end of the course, the party earns a Rock-G (time 8:22).
The party then prepares for Hollow Bastion's Gummi Mission 2 (time 9:54). The goal is simply to score at least 1,600 points. For this purpose, they outfit their ship with numerous Comet-G lasers and a couple Thunder-G cannons.
When they are ready, they set out from Olympus Coliseum to the warp hole on the way to Traverse Town (time 12:51). When they reach the warp hole, they bear left and take it (time 16:01). As you may remember, this warp passage is absolutely loaded with targets, especially obstacles. There will be more than enough power to keep the Comet-Gs going. You could activate Osmose-G to pick up many of the drops, but it is not really necessary. Going slow is the key to total wanton destruction.
At the end of the warp path, make sure to bear left to head for Hollow Bastion (time 23:26). Otherwise, you'll head to Neverland, and wouldn't that be a shame after all this hard work?
Upon completing this mission, the party earns an Angel-G (time 24:07).
Next, the party embarks on Hollow Bastion's Gummi Mission 3 (time 25:29). This mission requires them to use the Haste2-G booster at least ten times and to take no damage. Shield blocks are prohibited. For this, they reuse their ship, their route, and much of their strategy from the previous mission. The Comet-G lasers are a great way to shoot down opponents before they reach the ship. The booster can be used safely at a few places and with some risk at others. The party can brake the ship to minimize the distance traveled while the booster is recharging. Fortunately, only a few of the enemy ships will actually open fire. Many will attempt to ram the party's ship. Again, when exiting the warp passage, make sure to bear left to head for Hollow Bastion.
The reward for clearing the third mission is the Phoenix blueprint (time 34:04).
The final three missions (thank heavens) will be at the End of the World.
Thank you for watching!
