Yet another reason to NEVER go to New Jersy

The story linked below is yet another reason I will NEVER set foot in New Jersey, and why I will tell everyone I know, DON'T GO THERE.  If you live there, and you like guns, I suggest you move as soon as possible.  In the meantime, please click the link below, check out the story and if you can, help Meg out by donating to her defense fund.

I hope that once this is behind her, she can find a decent lawyer to sue the pants off the state of New Jersey and their Gestapo police who like to manufacture evidence and deny civil rights.  For added sanity, stay out of Maryland too.  Apparently they have a habit of similar bullshit.

Iowa State Government ruining kids' careers.

Hard to believe that grown men and women could be afraid of two girls, but they are. Click HERE to go to Laura Carno's blog and read the story. It's disgraceful that these girls should have to go to another state to practice their chosen sport, all because of an antiquated law that should have been repealed decades ago.

AJPH Smart Gun Survey is Bull Crap

A new "survey" published by the American Journal of Public Health says 59% of American gun owners would buy smart guns.  I call bullshit.  Any REAL American gun owner, who owns guns for recreation and self-defense knows that today's smart gun technology is fatally flawed.  There are too many things that can go wrong at just the wrong moment.

Imagine, you're in your home, watching television, or on your computer, eating dinner, playing with your children, whatever, and some depraved maniacal killer decides to break into your home, to commit some heinous crime.  You reach for your smart gun, aim it at the intruder, who doesn't stop coming at you, pull the trigger, and nothing happens.  The battery in the "smart" gun is dead, so it won't activate.

The above example is only one of many possibilities.  Now, I don't know about you, but I for one do not intend to trust my life to a device that "claims" to be a smart gun.  If I've learned anything in my 60 years on this planet, it is the more stuff you put into a piece of equipment, the more likely it is to break at the wrong moment.  The best firearms tend to be those with the fewest parts.  Adding electronics, sensors and batteries is just gumming up the works.

U of M cancels Screening of American Sniper

Seriously?  The reason stated the film made the students feel unsafe.  I mean, it's a movie.  Are we raising a bunch of sissies now?  Adult sized children who are afraid of a movie?  And that stupid petition they circulated, how would they know about the movie, if they haven't seen it?

It's sad for me to think that our colleges and universities are turning out scared little children who are afraid of their own shadows, but this does appear to be the case.  This is what we get for decades of letting left wing loons run our higher learning establishments.  We have met the enemy, and he is us.

Gun Violence is NOT a public Health Issue

Which of these things is not like the other?

1. Measles
2. Influenza
3. Tuberculosis
4. Murder

If you picked #4, “murder,” you’re right. The first three are medical diseases. In contrast “murder” is not a medical problem, although it is a tragic cause of death. But in recent years, anti-gun organizations (and some physicians) are seeking to blur this distinction by declaring “gun violence” to be a “public health” problem.

Like many physicians, I’ve seen numerous unfortunate gun-related injuries and deaths over the years. I understand the perspective of fellow physicians who are appalled by gun violence. After the 2012 Sandy Hook murders, ER physician Dr. David Newman wrote a moving piece for the New York Times entitled, “At the ER, Bearing Witness to Gun Violence.” He recounted tragic tales of innocent children injured by firearms. He called gun violence an “American epidemic” that posed a “threat to public health.” Dr. Newman also declared, “I have sworn an oath to heal and to protect humans. Guns, invented to maim and destroy, are my natural enemy.”

A notice to MDA, EveryTown,

Just a personal notice to all
you anti-gun activists.

Dear anti-freedom extremists.  While you're going around, puffing up your chest and proclaiming your piddling little victories, in getting a few businesses to cave in to your craven demands, know this.  My right to freedom of expression, my right to self defense, and the tools necessary to exercise that right, as well as my right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Trumps your hoplophobic idealism.

So, take your signs, your petitions, your puffery, and your Michael Bloomberg financing, stuff that where the sun don't shine, and sit on it.

More Criminal Empowerment Zones available.

Sonic, and Chili's join Jack-in-the-Box,
Chipotle and Starbuck's in banning guns from premises.

The latest backlash from some Open Carry advocates, demonstrating in front of businesses, or going into any of these locations with their long guns has been more of these businesses asking patrons to leave their guns at home.  I guess they didn't see the story about the "No Guns" posted restaurant in North Carolina that got robbed.  That, or they just don't care.

Now, to be fair, I don't know that any of these stores are going to be posted.  But, their CEO's have published comments to the effect that they prefer their customers leave their guns at home, or at the very least, don't bring them into their business.  I for one, plan to comply.  I will not bring my gun, my money, nor myself into any of these businesses ever again.  At least, not until I know that my firearm is welcome again.  And I will also be sure to pass the word on to all of my relatives, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers I meet at the local Meijer's (which still has no problem with my OCing a holstered pistol) whenever I go shopping.

Keep in mind, if you don't allow legal guns onto your property, you may find yourself facing ILLEGAL guns.  After all, criminals don't obey signs.  That's one of the reasons they're called criminals.

Florida Senate passes law to stop foreign laws from being followed in state courts

Sharia Law stopped in Florida

In a move totally along party lines, Republicans in the Florida State Senate voted to pass a law that will stop the use of foreign laws in their courts. Surprisingly, Democrats voted against it.  This will halt the imposition of Sharia law in Florida courts.  It baffles the mind as to why Democrats would vote against it.  This was one senate democrats excuse.
Sen. Eleanor Sobel, D-Hollywood, said she opposed the bill because foreign laws have never been implemented in Florida courts or any other state.
Gee, and you suppose that just because it hasn't been done, it won't?  Wake up and smell the stuff you're shoveling, senator.  I would think that you'd want to make sure that women and children are protected, even from the possibility of something like that happening.  Sheesh.  This law will hopefully, keep things from changing.  We don't want foreign laws followed here.  This is the United States of America, not the Islamic Republic of America.

I am amazed, the democrats are always accusing the Republicans and Conservatives of "waging war on women."  Here, it appears to be the other way around.  What's up with that?

Pay Attention, owners of Chipotle and Starbucks, you might be next!!!

Put up a "No Guns" sign in your business,
and this is what could happen.

(Just in case the link goes dark, the text of the article is below.)
Monday, May 19, 2014 DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are searching for three suspects involved in an armed robbery at Durham's newly-opened barbecue restaurant, The Pit, at 321 W. Geer Street.

Authorities said just before 9 p.m. Sunday, three men wearing hoodies entered the restaurant through the back doors with pistols, and forced several staff members to lie on the floor.

The bandits assaulted two employees during the crime, but they were not seriously injured.

"They're doing great," restaurant owner Greg Hatem said. "One of them actually went to the hospital and was released. They took a good look at him, he's fine."

Hatem also said there were a few patrons in the dining room while the robbery was happening in the kitchen area. Workers were able to ask them to leave, and got them out safely through the front door.

"We're offering $2,000 for the arrest and conviction of these guys," Hatem said. "We take this very seriously. We want to make sure our guests and our staff are taken care of."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.

Amazing, isn't it. The owner puts a "No Firearms Allowed" sign in the door, and criminals have the audacity to ignore it. That's just horrible. Maybe Moms Demand Action should do something about it. Hold a demonstration outside, demanding that the evil doers stay away from this business, and not bring their guns the next time they intend to rob the place. Yeah, I'm sure that will keep them away.

(In case you missed it, that was sarcasm.)

NAGR is NOT Pro-2nd Amendment!!

National Association for Gun Rights is
NOT a Pro-2nd Amendment Organization.
I say this based on several discoveries.  First, they have apparently made their money by attacking every other major pro-gun group.  Like SAF, NRA and others.  Most recently, Alan Gotlieb of SAF has been their victim.  Unfortunately for NAGR, SAF is not taking it sitting down.  From SAF's response to the latest attack.
In his latest effort to raise money for his own self-aggrandizement, Dudley Brown has launched a vicious canard against Alan Gottlieb, accusing the veteran gun rights advocate of “Leading the fight for national gun registration.”
Alan Gottlieb has never advocated for gun registration in his life. His legislative efforts have been to prevent that, and Dudley knows it.
Sean Tonner, deputy chief of staff for former Republican Colorado Gov. Bill Owens, was quoted by The Denver Magazine, asserting, “All Dudley wanted to do was create controversy. He makes his money when there’s turmoil, real or perceived, because that’s what gets his members to write him checks.”
And this is just their latest attack on a major pro gun organization.  It makes me wonder, perhaps Mr. Brown is a sheep in wolves clothing.  Someone from the left, trying to look like he's from the right, in an effort to sow discord amongst gun owners and those that actually fight for our right to keep and bear arms.

You have to actually ask the questions that SAF is asking, "Where was Dudley?"  Seriously, look at the following again from SAF's response to his attack on Mr. Gottlieb.

WHERE WAS DUDLEY?
The Second Amendment Foundation has championed gun rights legal actions and won in federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. Remember, it was SAF that took McDonald v. City of Chicago to the Supreme Court and won. Where was Dudley?
SAF and CCRKBA have conducted the annual Gun Rights Policy Conference for more than 25 years, bringing together major gun rights leaders with grassroots activists to unify and expand the gun rights movement. Where was Dudley?
When SAF and the National Rifle Association joined forces to stop the unconstitutional gun grab in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, where was Dudley?
When SAF and NRA joined forces to defeat the San Francisco gun ban, where was Dudley?
When SAF, NRA and CCRKBA joined forces to defeat the City of Seattle’s parks gun ban – thus strengthening state preemption in Washington state and providing a lesson for anyone who might challenge other states’ preemption laws, where was Dudley?
When the International Association for the Protection of Civilian Arms Rights (IAPCAR) was created, Alan Gottlieb was there to help bring together an organization that now has member groups from every continent and several nations. Where was Dudley?
When multi-national gun rights organizations gather in Europe to resist global gun control efforts, Alan Gottlieb is there, but where is Dudley?
Even before this, there is a message thread on Gunbroker dot com's forum about his activities. And that is 4 years old.  Whatever you do, don't send your money to this guy.  He doesn't make a living protecting your 2nd amendment rights.  He does it by attacking other pro 2nd amendment organizations.  Don't let him get away with his smear tactics.

Fly the Gadsen flag, get suspended from school

As high school seniors near graduation, they very often pull senior pranks. One young man in Colorado, however, was suspended from school and banned from graduation because of his prank. The incident caused no damage to the school and was pretty harmless. But, the visual of what he did angered his high school principal so much that she immediately lost it and went on a rampage. His prank? Raising the freedom representing Gadsden flag on the school’s flagpole.

Gay bashing on the rise in NYC

I have to wonder, if this would be going on, IF NYC didn't have such strict gun control laws.  Mayor Bloomberg would have everyone believe that only the police and the military need firearms.  Yet, Gays are getting pounded on more often now, than in the recent past.

Any time I've had a conversation with some anti-gun fanatic, and I ask them, "What should I do if I'm attacked?" their stock answer is, "Call the police."  Like that's gonna keep me from getting my brains bashed in.  I have to wonder, do they live in the "real" world, where the police usually show up AFTER the damage is done, or what.

I have a Michigan Concealed Pistol License, and I carry every day.  And even though, I can carry concealed, I've jumped on the Open Carry bandwagon, and you know what, no one has attacked me yet.  Now some might suggest it's my size.  I stand 6 feet 2 inches tall, and I weigh about 270 pounds.  Yet others will suggest it's the nickel plated .45 automatic pistol that I carry.  I like to think it's my charming manner that keeps people friendly toward me.

In any event, everyone in the LGBT community should take a hint, protect yourself.  Do whatever you have to, to stay alive.

Democrat’s ‘Universal Background Check’ bill discriminates against same-sex couples

Posted on March 14, 2013 by John Pierce

As if same-sex couples were not faced with enough social and legal bigotry, the so-called ‘Universal Background Check’ bill being pushed by Democrats adds the threat of being made a felon for simply going on a long business trip.

“What?” I hear you cry. “How is that possible?”

A plea to Scouts: Don’t let the ‘bad guys’ win

Really? "Don't let the 'bad guys' win?" What a load of crap!! Equating being Gay with being 'bad' is the lowest and basest form of attack I can think of, short of calling someone a racist without any viable truth. Just because you're Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual or Trans-Gender, doesn't mean you're bad. You're just different. It's like being white or black, European, African, or Asian. You don't choose your sexuality, anymore than you can choose your race. (Note, I did not include the various religions in this comparison, since you can change your religion if you want to.)

I find it unfortunate, that people like this, from American Family Association give Right Wing Conservatives a bad name. I myself, generally call myself a conservative. Which applies to most issues. This however, is not one of them. In my opinion, these people make Attila the Hun look like the Cookie Monster. Is it any wonder that Gay bashing, both physical and verbal still exists?

Take my advice, you're a known member of your local LGBT community, legally arm yourself. Start a Pink Pistols Chapter in your area. Learn how to use your weapon of choice. Get a license to carry if required where you live, and make sure you keep on living.

One News Now story starts below.

Leaders of traditional values groups believe if the Boy Scouts changes its policy regarding homosexuals as members and leaders, that organization could be deeply hurt.

The proposal under consideration by the Boy Scouts of America, announced Monday, would remove sexual orientation from the national membership restriction and permit regional counsels to make their own decisions about membership.

"Currently, the BSA is discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation," read a statement released yesterday by the Scouts' leadership. "This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, but that the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with their organization's mission, principles or religious beliefs. BSA members and parents would be able to choose a local unit which best meets the needs of their families.

If they come for your guns, do you have a responsibility to fight?

I feel a tremendous responsibility to write this article though I am a little apprehensive. Thinking about the possibility of rising up against our own government is a frightening thing for many of us. I am not Johnny Rambo and I will be the first to admit that I do not want to die. The reason I feel compelled to write this, however, is simply because I don’t think the average American is equipped with the facts. I feel that a lot of American citizens feel like they have no choice but to surrender their guns if the government comes for them. I blame traditional media sources for this mass brainwash and I carry the responsibility of all small independent bloggers to tell the truth. So my focus today is to lay out your constitutional rights as an American, and let you decide what to do with those rights.

About a month ago I let the “democracy” word slip in a discussion with a fellow blogger. I know better. Americans have been conditioned to use this term. It’s not an accurate term and it never has been a correct term to describe our form of government. The truth is that the United States of America is a constitutional republic. This is similar to a democracy because our representatives are selected by democratic elections, but ultimately our representatives are required to work within the framework of our constitution. In other words, even if 90% of Americans want something that goes against our founding principles, they have no right to call for a violation of constitutional rights.

If you are religious you might choose to think of it this way… Say that members of your congregation decide that mass fornication is a good thing. Do they have the right to change the teachings of your God? The truth is the truth. It doesn’t matter how many people try to stray from it. Did I just compare our founders to God? In a way I did, but please note that I am not trying to insult anyone. For the purpose of the American Government our constitution and founders who wrote it are much like God is to believers. It is the law. It is indisputable.

Our founders did not want a “democracy” for they feared a true democracy was just as dangerous as a monarchy. The founders were highly educated people who were experienced in defending themselves against tyranny. They understood that the constitution could protect the people by limiting the power of anyone to work outside of it much better than a pure system of popularity. A system of checks and balances was set up to help limit corruption of government and also the potential for an “immoral majority” developing within the American People. We have forgotten in this country that we are ultimately ruled by a constitution.

Why is a democracy potentially just as dangerous as a monarchy? Let’s look at something that Benjamin Franklin said because it answers that question more fully and succinctly than I can.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. -Benjamin Franklin

Even 230+ years ago our founders were perceptive enough to realize that democracy was a dangerous form of government. How so? Because the citizens of a country can become just as corrupt as any government. We have seen evidence of this throughout history. Ask Native Americans and African-Americans if this population can become corrupt.

I think in 2012 we are seeing evidence of what Franklin was trying to tell us. Just because a majority of people may support certain ideas it does not mean that those ideas are just. In simple terms, just because most Americans love our president and voted for him, it does not mean that he has the power to go against our constitutional rights.

Next I’d like to review the text of the second amendment. It is very clear. This is the law of this land. So when Senator Feinstein or President Obama talk about taking your guns, you need to think about something. Are they honoring their sworn oath to uphold the constitution?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

This is a pretty clear statement. The fact is that it took 232 years for the Supreme Court to even rule on this amendment because it has never been successfully challenged. In 2008 a case of Columbia v. Heller the Supreme Court ruled that a handgun ban in Washington D.C. was unconstitutional. One also has to take this into consideration. The Supreme Court supports your right to own guns. If you want to research this decision further you can start here.

For those who try to debate the spirit of the 2nd amendment, they are truly no different from people who will try to take Biblical quotes out of context to try to support their immoral decisions. The founders were very clear on the intent of the 2nd amendment. Let me share a few quick quotes here:

The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. -Thomas Jefferson

Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good. -George Washington

The Constitution shall never be construed….to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. -Samuel Adams

I could find hundreds of quotes like these. This country was built on the right to bear arms. It was built on the rights of an individual to bear arms, regardless of what his government or neighbor happened to think. This is crystal clear. Ironically the people who voice their opinions against this right have their free speech protected by your guns. Without guns in this country, all other amendments become null and void, simply because “We the People” will lose our power of enforcement.

We need to keep this in mind as our “representatives” try to push gun bans. I don’t care if 99% of people are in support of gun bans (which is far from the case), it is a violation of our constitutional rights, plain and simple.

A constitutional republic protects the rights of the individual even when their ideas are very much in the minority. If I were the only person in America who believed in the 2nd amendment, I would still be within my rights to call upon it. You would all think I was insane and possibly celebrate if I was gunned down, but in the end I would be the only true American among us.

Our framers were very clear on this. If my government comes to take my guns, they are violating one of my constitutional rights that is covered by the 2nd amendment. It is not my right, at that point, but my responsibility to respond in the name of liberty. What I am telling you is something that many are trying to soft sell, and many others have tried to avoid putting into print, but I am going to say it. The time for speaking in code is over.

If they come for our guns then it is our constitutional right to put them six feet under. You have the right to kill any representative of this government who tries to tread on your liberty. I am thinking about self-defense and not talking about inciting a revolution. Re-read Jefferson’s quote. He talks about a “last resort.” I am not trying to start a Revolt, I am talking about self-defense. If the day for Revolution comes, when no peaceful options exist, we may have to talk about that as well. None of us wants to think about that, but please understand that a majority can not take away your rights as an American citizen. Only you can choose to give up your rights.

Congress could pass gun ban legislation by a 90%+ margin and it just would not matter. I think some people are very unclear on this. This is the reason we have a Supreme Court, and though I do not doubt that the Supreme Court can also become corrupt, in 2008 they got it right. They supported the constitution. It does not matter what the majority supports because America is not a democracy. A constitutional republic protects the rights of every single citizen, no matter what their “elected servants” say. A majority in America only matters when the constitution is not in play.

I just wrote what every believer in the constitution wants to say, and what every constitutional blogger needs to write. The truth of the matter is that this type of speech is viewed as dangerous and radical or subversive, and it could gain me a world of trouble that I do not want. It is also the truth. To make myself clear I will tell you again. If they come for your guns it is your right to use those guns against them and to kill them. You are protected by our constitution.

Most of the articles I am reading on the subject are trying to give you clues without just coming out and saying it. I understand that because certain things in this country will get you on a list that you don’t want to be on. I may well be on that list. This blog is small and growing so I may not be there yet, but I have dreams. I also have my own list of subversives and anyone who attempts to deny my constitutional rights is on that list.

I am not the “subversive” here, it is the political representatives who are threatening to take away my inalienable rights. If they come to take my guns and I leave a few of them wounded or dead, and I somehow survive, I have zero doubt that I will spend a long time in prison and may face an execution. But I would much rather be a political prisoner than a slave.

If I go down fighting then I was not fighting to harm these human beings. I was simply defending my liberty and yours. It is self-defense and it is what our country was built on. We won our freedom in self-defense. We would not be ruled by a tyrannical government in the 1770′s and we will not be ruled in 2012 by a tyrannical government. There is no difference.

This is a case of right and wrong. As of now the 2nd amendment stands. It has never been repealed. If Feinstein or Barack have a problem with the constitution then they should be removed from office. They are not defending the constitution which they have sworn an oath to protect. It is treasonous to say the least. They would likely say the same about me, but I have the constitution, the founders, and the supreme court on my side. They only have their inflated egos.

I am not writing this to incite people. I am writing this in hopes that somehow I can make a tiny difference. I have no idea how many of my neighbors have the will to defend their constitutional rights. 2%? 20%? I am afraid that 20% is a high number, unfortunately. When push comes to shove many people may give up and submit to being ruled. I believe that our government is banking on this.

What I do know is that this country was founded by people who had balls the size of Texas and Patriotic Americans take shit off of no one, especially our own government. For evidence of that, you might research the Revolutionary War. My question is how many Patriots are left?

I would hope that our officials come to realize that, regardless of our numbers, we still exist because they are calling Patriotic Americans to action. They are making us decide if we want to die free or submit to their rule. I can not tell you where you should stand on that. I do know that it may make the difference between living a life of freedom or slavery.

You must start thinking about this because I believe that the day is coming soon and I personally believe it has already been planned. Not all conspiracy theories are hogwash. They may throw down the gauntlet soon and my suggestion is that you prepare yourself to react.

I mean no disrespect to our elected officials but they need to understand that “We the People” will not be disarmed. If they proceed then it is they that are provoking us and we will act accordingly. We are within our rights to do so.

For those who are in support of taking the guns, you need to ask yourself a very important question, and I am not just talking about the politicians, because if you support them, you have chosen your side.

Are you willing to die to take my guns?

Again, thank you so much. I am humbled. This free wordpress blog has just gone from averaging 300 visitors per day 40,000-50,000 hits per day and I have no idea when things may return to normal. That was caused by the people that cared and not the author. I am just an average American that cares. Every Facebook share, retweet, and email is helping and please continue to support what you believe in. We make no money from this blog. We may someday, but for now it is our choice to offer the truth as we see it for the good of our country and not for anything material. Keep on sharing and let’s make them pay attention to us! No sane American really wants a Civil War. We want peace but we will not back down from a government that chooses to ignore our founding principles. I am forever in your debt and service. -Dean Garrison The D.C. Clothesline.

From a friend of a friend of a friend.

More dependency on food stamps, you own it.

Trouble finding good employment, you own it.

Several part time jobs instead of a good job, you own it.

A World Government, you own it.

The UN governing the United States instead of ourselves doing it, you own it.

Loss of our freedoms as we have known it in the past, you own it.

A dictatorship instead of a democracy that follows the Constitution, you own it.

Less take home pay and higher living costs, you own it.

Driving a car that looks like a toy, you own it.

More government corruption and lies, you own it.

Your revenge instead of love of country, you own it.

President George Bush is out of it now, and there is not another good man for you to vilify and lie about. In a way I am relieved that another good man will not be blamed when it was impossible to clean up this mess you voted for. Have a good day. God bless the United States. God is still our hope.

Cowardly Taliban shoot defenseless girl

According to a story posted on NPR's blog, a young girl who wrote a diary about life under the Taliban, was targeted by the Taliban for what she did. And what she did was expose the cruelty of the Taliban. How they burned down all the girl's schools in the Swat valley of Pakistan, while they were in control, among all the other evil acts they have committed and still commit. She also wrote about how she secretly still attended school by hiding books in her clothing.

The good news, she's not dead and will likely recover, although it may mean a trip to another country (USA?) for treatment. The bad news, the Taliban cowards say they'll target her again.

Going Hunting? Get Training!!!

If you live in California, and you like to hunt, you have my condolences.  But, if you've never hunted before, you should consider a hunter safety course.  Seriously.  It can mean the difference between life and death.  Anyone, who's never been hunting, regardless of how long they've been around firearms, should take one.  And, check your state laws, it might be required to get your hunting license!
