Will Holland
William Holland is a musician, DJ and record producer from Bewdley, Worcestershire. He is based in New York City after spending 7 years in Colombia.
He records under various guises, notably, Quantic, The Quantic Soul Orchestra, and The Limp Twins. His music draws upon elements of cumbia, salsa, bossa nova, soul, funk and jazz. Holland plays guitars, bass, double bass, piano, organ, saxophone, accordion and percussion. Much of his sound is original composition with little in the way of sampling of other artists' material.
Holland also has his own label Magnetic Fields on which he releases heavy soul and funk. He has also taken on remix duties for over 30 songs.
History
His albums The 5th Exotic (2001) and Apricot Morning (2002) featured vocals from British artists including soul singer Alice Russell. In 2003, he assembled The Quantic Soul Orchestra, a new project aimed at producing 60s/70s style raw funk, playing guitar himself, and featuring other musicians including his saxophonist sister, Lucy Holland."

Holland
Holland is a region and former province on the western coast of the Netherlands. The name Holland is also frequently used to informally refer to the whole of the country of the Netherlands. This usage is commonly accepted in other countries, but in the Netherlands and particularly in other regions of the country it could be found undesirable or even insulting.
From the 10th to the 16th century, Holland proper was a unified political region within the Holy Roman Empire as a county ruled by the Counts of Holland. By the 17th century, Holland had risen to become a maritime and economic power, dominating the other provinces of the newly independent Dutch Republic.
The area of the former County of Holland roughly coincides with the two current Dutch provinces of North Holland and South Holland, which together include the Netherlands' three largest cities: the capital city of Amsterdam; Rotterdam, home of Europe's largest port; and the seat of government of The Hague.

Holland's Barriers to The Sea
The Delta Works in the Netherlands (Holland) is the largest flood protection project in the world. This project consists of a number of surge barriers, for examples: 1- The Oosterscheldekering is the largest of the 13 ambitious Delta Works series of dams and storm surge barriers and it is the largest surge barrier in the world, 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) long. The dam is based on 65 concrete pillars with 62 steel doors, each 42 metres wide. It is designed to protect the Netherlands from flooding from the North Sea. 2- The Maeslantkering is a storm barrier with two movable arms; when the arms are open the waterway remains an important shipping route however when the arms close a protective storm barrier is formed for the city of Rotterdam. 'Magnetica' is the first Quantic album under his main solo moniker since 2006’s ‘An Announcement To Answer’, and in the interim this prolific artist has raised the stakes further with acclaimed side-projects including The Quantic Soul Orchestra, the Combo Bárbaro, Quantic & Alice Russell, Flowering Inferno and Ondatrópica (Soundway). Having spent the last seven years living in Colombia (in both Calí and Bogotá), a base from which he has worked with many of the finest musicians from Latin America and the Caribbean, on 'Magnetica' he now casts his net even wider to take in the sounds, styles and languages of the UK, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Brazil, Angola and beyond.
The LP opener and title track is an energetic, sub-bass-heavy instrumental which sets out the stall for an album of twists and turns and discovery. “I wanted to have the opening theme to this... this foray... as something that was quite electric in its energy. Working more with Ableton live and synths and beats - after quite a long time away from it, it was refreshing and fun to jam out with some electronic instruments”, says Holland. The sound he has coined here is a meeting of worlds; revelling in recent technological advancements and the opportunities they offer for innovation, while drawing heavily on his years of immersion in authentic, analogue, live tropical soul music.

On a quest to release the music he loved, Will launched Enhanced in 2005. Now as 'one of the most famous trance labels today' (Armin van Buuren - ASOT), 'The UK's Hottest Trance Label' - Trance.nu, celebrated its biggest year to date in 2010. Will has amassed what could be considered to be the most coveted selection of young artists in the scene; Estiva, Arty, Temple One, Ferry Tayle, Suncatcher, Juventa to name a few. I asked him how he managed to do it!
With an ear for quality music Will has built one of biggest trance label's in the world today, and with a worldwide army of fans and followers, including the A-List DJ fraternity, don't be surprised if this is just the start of things to come from Enhanced.

1- The Oosterscheldekering is the largest of the 13 ambitious Delta Works series of dams and storm surge barriers and it is the largest surge barrier in the world, 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) long. The dam is based on 65 concrete pillars with 62 steel doors, each 42 metres wide. It is designed to protect the Netherlands from flooding from the North Sea.
2- The Maeslantkering is a storm barrier with two movable arms; when the arms are open the waterway remains an important shipping route however when the arms close a protective storm barrier is formed for the city of Rotterdam. Closing the arms of the barrier is a completely automated process done without human intervention.
