Alec Butler nació en 1959 y desde ese momento todo el mundo asumió que se trataba de una niña, pues es lo que indicaban sus órganos sexuales externos. Sin embargo, cuando tenía 12 años, en plena pubertad, comenzó a desarrollar barba a la vez que tenía la menstruación, lo que confusión entre su familia y sus doctores. Según explica Butler, los médicos de su ciudad canadiense no sabían lo que era la intersexualidad, que era lo que realmente tenía.
Debido a esta ignorancia, un médico les llego a recomendar el internamiento en un psiquiátrico para que aprendiera a "vestirse y a usar maquillaje", aunque sus padres se negaron. Sin embargo, lo peor fue en la escuela y en la sociedad, donde no le aceptaban porque, por ejemplo, quería llevar pantalones en una época en la que las niñas no los llevaban. De hecho, sintió tanta presión que llegó a tomar hormonas para ser más femenina mientras él se sentía cada vez más masculino, según narra a BBC.
En cuanto a las relaciones, llegó a enamorarse de una chica que le correspondía pero fue imposible el amor porque él era intersexual y "salió todo fatal".
Por ello, tuvo que vivir una vida de insultos en la que le llamaban "machorro" y "tortillera", entre otras cosas. Además, en clase le llegaron a dar notas en las que le preguntaban por qué no se suicidaba, lo que llevó a su familia a mudarse. El problema fue que en su nuevo pueblo "la gente era aún más ignorante".
No obstante, superó todos estos problemas, en la década de los 90' supo que era intersexual y ahora tiene pareja. Asimismo, aunque le costó mucho encontrar trabajo, ha desarrollado una carrera como escritor y cineasta.

Alec Butler
Alec Butler (born 1959) is an award winning Canadian playwright and filmmaker. Assigned female at birth, he identified as a butch lesbian before pursuing gender reassignment in 1999, and currently identifies as a Two-Spirit trans man. Prior to his gender reassignment, his work was published under the name Audrey Butler.
He was a nominee for the Governor General's Award for English drama in 1990 for his play Black Friday. He has also worked on artistic projects with The 519 Church St. Community Centre as their first artist-in-residence. He was named one of Toronto's Vital People by the Toronto Community Foundation in 2006.
He is a Métis of Mi'kmaq heritage.

Butler
A butler is a domestic worker in a large household. In great houses, the household is sometimes divided into departments with the butler in charge of the dining room, wine cellar, and pantry. Some also have charge of the entire parlour floor, and housekeepers caring for the entire house and its appearance. A butler is usually male, and in charge of male servants, while a housekeeper is usually a woman, and in charge of female servants. Traditionally, male servants (such as footmen) were rarer and therefore better paid and of higher status than female servants. The butler, as the senior male servant, has the highest servant status. He can also be sometimes used as a chauffeur.
In older houses where the butler is the most senior worker, titles such as majordomo, butler administrator, house manager, manservant, staff manager, chief of staff, staff captain, estate manager and head of household staff are sometimes given. The precise duties of the employee will vary to some extent in line with the title given, but perhaps, more importantly in line with the requirements of the individual employer. In the grandest homes or when the employer owns more than one residence, there is sometimes an estate manager of higher rank than the butler.

Pride Week (Toronto)
Pride Week is a ten-day event held in Toronto, Canada, during the end of June each year. It is a celebration of the diversity of the LGBT community in the Greater Toronto Area. It is one of the largest organized gay pride festivals in the world, featuring several stages with live performers and DJs, several licensed venues, a large Dyke March, a Trans March and the Pride Parade. The centre of Pride Week is the city's Church and Wellesley village, while the parade and marches are primarily routed along the nearby Yonge Street, Gerrard Street and Bloor Street. In 2014, the week served as the fourth international WorldPride, and was much larger than standard Toronto Prides.
Pride Week is organized by Pride Toronto, a non-profit organization. A small complement of seven staff support the work of 19 festival teams and six advisors; each team is responsible for an aspect of the festival. Each team is administered by two or three volunteer team leads. The long-term vision for, and strategic oversight of, the organization and the festival is managed by 12 volunteers on the board of directors.

25 minute excerpt from a very personal experimental documentary by awarding winning filmmaker Alec Butler about one of our queer community's unsung heroes, Kathleen Brindley was a butch dyke elder who mentored the filmmaker in all things queer and artistic, a meditation on friendship, art, activism and acts of love at the 11th hour, the hour just before death. One of the speakers for the Canadian Homophile Association of Toronto, our hero was a fighter for human rights from the age of fourteen, a life of activism and a love of art followed, Brindley succumbed to a rare untreatable cancer in 2007, when she died with a beautiful smile on her handsome face in Alec's arms.

Alec Butler nació en 1959 y desde ese momento todo el mundo asumió que se trataba de una niña, pues es lo que indicaban sus órganos sexuales externos. Sin embargo, cuando tenía 12 años, en plena pubertad, comenzó a desarrollar barba a la vez que tenía la menstruación, lo que confusión entre su familia y sus doctores. Según explica Butler, los médicos de su ciudad canadiense no sabían lo que era la intersexualidad, que era lo que realmente tenía.
Debido a esta ignorancia, un médico les llego a recomendar el internamiento en un psiquiátrico para que aprendiera a "vestirse y a usar maquillaje", aunque sus padres se negaron. Sin embargo, lo peor fue en la escuela y en la sociedad, donde no le aceptaban porque, por ejemplo, quería llevar pantalones en una época en la que las niñas no los llevaban. De hecho, sintió tanta presión que llegó a tomar hormonas para ser más femenina mientras él se sentía cada vez más masculino, según narra a BBC.
En cuanto a las relaciones, llegó a enamorarse de una chica que le correspondía pero fue imposible el amor porque él era intersexual y "salió todo fatal".
Por ello, tuvo que vivir una vida de insultos en la que le llamaban "machorro" y "tortillera", entre otras cosas. Además, en clase le llegaron a dar notas en las que le preguntaban por qué no se suicidaba, lo que llevó a su familia a mudarse. El problema fue que en su nuevo pueblo "la gente era aún más ignorante".

Second unit filming began in February 2014 in South Africa with principal photography taking place between March and August 2014. The film was primarily shot at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England, with additional footage filmed in Italy, South Korea, Bangladesh, New York, and various locations around England.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2012's The Avengers and the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Avengers must work together to defeat Ultron, a mechanical artificial intelligence bent on human extinction.
The sequel was announced in May 2012, after the successful release of The Avengers. Whedon, the director of the first film, was brought back on board in August and a release date was set. By April 2013, Whedon had completed a draft of the script, and casting began in June with the re-signing of Downey. Second unit filming began in February 2014 in South Africa with principal photography taking place between March and August 2014. The film was primarily shot at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England, with additional footage filmed in Italy, South Korea, Bangladesh, New York, and various locations around England.

On March 12, 2017, at the 519 Community Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, members from the LGBTQ communities across the city gathered to discuss past and future relations with police services. "No More S#%&!" combines a panel of community speakers and a participatory World Cafe-style conversation all of which revisits the 1981 Bathhouse Raids and considers whose stories are being told and how we might re-envision Toronto's LGBTQ history. Topics included police criminalization and brutality, carding, nationalism, decolonization, and appropriate community responses to such behaviour.
In the wake of Toronto Police Services's Project Marie park raids, the #BlackLivesMatter protests in Toronto's Pride 2016 parade, and recent changes to Toronto Pride's policies of inclusion, our objective was to investigate the evolution and current relationships between the LGBTQ communities and the police since Operation Soap.

En primera instancia, menciona rasgos del Socialismo: ausencia de libertad y de propiedad privada, explotación del trabajador, privilegios de la burocracia estatal e imposibilidad de cálculo económico, entre otros; que en su opinión hacen del mismo un sistema injusto e insostenible donde no puede existir prosperidad.
También, presenta las ventajas del Capitalismo: forma justa de asignar de los recursos, capacidad de producción, pago de salarios a los trabajadores y una estructura que permite mayores ventajas para alcanzar el desarrollo económico.

Miguel Anxo Bastos hace una comparación entre Capitalismo y Socialismo para determinar cuál tiene mayores ventajas. En primera instancia, menciona rasgos del Socialismo: ausencia de libertad y de propiedad privada, explotación del trabajador, privilegios de la burocracia estatal e imposibilidad de cálculo económico, entre otros; que en su opinión hacen del mismo un sistema injusto e insostenible donde no puede existir prosperidad.
También, presenta las ventajas del Capitalismo: forma justa de asignar de los recursos, capacidad de producción, pago de salarios a los trabajadores y una estructura que permite mayores ventajas para alcanzar el desarrollo económico.
