ABOUT THE BRIDE
Heather was born in 1970 in Austin, Texas. When she was 3 she moved to Savannah with her parents, older brother (Steve) and younger sister (Ann). An avid sports fan, she grew up playing sports and was a member of her high school basketball and softball teams, earning All Region honors in Basketball as a Senior. She attended the University of Georgia where she earned her degree in Computer Information Systems. While at UGA, she was active in many organizations including Kappa Delta Sorority, and Habitat for Helping. After graduating from Georgia, she accepted a job with FHW Systems, Inc. where she has worked for the past 3 years.
ABOUT THE GROOM
Jerry was born in 1969 in Macon, Georgia. He and his family moved to Savannah when he was 12 years old. Jerry is the 4th of 6 children and has 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He played football and ran track while at Brentwood High School. After graduating from Brentwood, he attended the University of Georgia where he earned is degree in Accounting. While at Georgia, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He graduated from Georgia in 2001 and accepted a job at Anderson-Rose Accounting where he has worked as an auditor for the past 3 years.
HOW WE MET
Heather and Jerry first met at a Sorority/Fraternity Mixer during their Junior year at Georgia. It was not love at first site for Heather - she thought Jerry was one of the most obnoxious people she had ever met. For Jerry, however, the opposite was true. He thought Heather was "the one" as soon as he saw her. He attributes Heather's initial impression of him to his nervousness at meeting such an amazing woman. After attending several Fraternity/Sorority functions together, Heather saw that Jerry was really a pretty good guy and they've been together since.
THE PROPOSAL
Jerry and Heather took a weekend trip to Sarasota, Florida. While walking on the beach at sunset, Jerry proposed to Heather. Heather was completely taken by surprise but immediately said "yes" which made the rest of the trip much easier than if she had said "no".
