Whitechapel is a district in the East End of London, England, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
It is located 3.4 miles (5.5 km) east of Charing Cross and roughly bounded by Middlesex Street and Mansell Street to the west, Fashion Street to the north, Cambridge Heath Road and Sidney Street to the east and The Highway to the south.
Because the area is close to the London Docklands and east of the city, it has been a popular place for immigrants and the working class. The area was the centre of the London Jewish community in the 19th and early 20th century, and the location of the infamous Whitechapel Murders believed to involve Jack the Ripper in the late 1880s. In the latter half of the 20th century, Whitechapel has become a significant settlement for the British Bangladeshi community, particularly on Whitechapel Road and Brick Lane.
Whitechapel's heart is Whitechapel High Street, extending further east as Whitechapel Road, named after a small chapel of ease dedicated to St Mary. The church's earliest known rector was Hugh de Fulbourne in 1329. Around 1338, it became the parish church of Whitechapel, called, for unknown reasons, St Mary Matfelon. The church was destroyed through enemy action in World War II and its location and graveyard is now a public garden on the south side of the road.
Our Endless War is the fifth studio album by the American deathcore band Whitechapel. The album was released on April 29, 2014 via Metal Blade. It sold 16,270 copies in its first week.
The song "The Saw Is the Law" was released on February 26, 2014 as the first single off the album. On April 15, 2014, a lyric video for the song "Our Endless War" was released. Axl Rosenberg of MetalSucks described the latter as "barely a deathcore song ... it's basically a straight-up hardcore [punk] song".
Production and performance credits are adapted from the album liner notes.
The Joker is Wild was the second album released by Alex Harvey after the demise of The Soul Band. The album was released in 1972. Some time after 1972 the album The Joker Is Wild was reissued and repackaged, the album song listings stayed the same, but the album was credited as being made by "The Sensational Alex Harvey Band" even though this band did not exist at the time, and the title was changed to This Is.
The album was recorded at Regent Sound Studio, London in early 1972. These songs are unfinished demos only, recorded for a Spanish singer named Tony Caldeira (who wrote "The Joker Is Wild" and "Silhouette and Shadow"). Alex was teaching Tony vocal delivery and phrasing. Alex received a cheque for the session which subsequently bounced. The producer, Paul Murphy, sold the tapes to Metronome Records in Germany and they issued the LP as The Joker Is Wild in 1972. This Is SAHB is a low budget reissue of "Joker" intended to cash in on SAHB's success (even though Zal, Chris, Ted and Hugh weren't involved with the recordings). The photo of SAHB on the sleeve features keyboard player John Martin on the far left.
This Is Exile is the second studio album by the American deathcore band Whitechapel. It was produced by Jonny Fay and the band itself and was released on July 8, 2008 through Metal Blade Records. The first album to feature guitarist Zach Householder.
Upon the release of the record, its sales reached 5,900 in copies, which had it enter the Billboard Top 200 chart at position 118. Three music videos for songs from the album were released. The video for "This Is Exile" was released on June 18, 2008. The music video for "Possession" was released on November 18, 2008 and shown on MTV2's Headbangers Ball. The music video for "Eternal Refuge" was released on June 8, 2009.
The song "This Is Exile" is available as downloadable content for Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3. The song is also used in the iPod Touch game, Tap Tap Revenge 3.
All lyrics written by Phil Bozeman, all music composed by Whitechapel.

It portrays my struggle through dealing with my dad's death at the age of 10. The shots of me show me at my darkest moments. Suicidal thoughts, suicide note and feeling alone. The atmosphere of the room we shot this is nailed exactly how I was feeling at the time. Dark, depressed and suicidal. The shots of the man and young boy portray my bond I had with my dad and how devastated I was when he left. They are presented to be in a dream like state of me remembering him. Established by Richard Jones in 1982 the original Aldgate East Jack the Ripper Tour (http://www.jack-the-ripper-tour.com) is an expert led walk around the Whitechapel Murder sites that is conducted by expert guides who have written books about Jack the Ripper. In this short video Richard gives some of the history of how he came to start the tour and provides you with a synopsis of why he believes this to be the best of the London tours that cover history's most infamous sequence of murders. He also explains, step by step, the route that the tour takes, whilst the evocative accompanying footage, shot on an actual tour, which was conducted by leading Ripperologist Philip Hutchinson, really captures the mood and the mystery of the World's greatest whodunit.
As part of the London Calling season, BBC World Service has been discovering some of the quirkier areas of the Olympic city. In this second episode, Thomas Pappon from BBC Brasil visits Whitechapel. The streets stalked by Jack the Ripper have for generations been a haven for immigrants. More recently they have become an oasis of vintage fashion. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-18463147
London is a city brought to life by its people and the unique and fascinating stories they have to tell. Watch and share their stories now! Meet Alan Hughes whose family has been casting bells in East London since 1884. The foundry was established over 400 years ago. Most of London’s great bells were made here including those at St Mary-le-Bow, Houses of Parliament (Big Ben) and Westminster Abbey. The Foundry also exports to the USA and cast arguably the most famous bell of them all, the Liberty Bell.

The streets of Whitechapel and Spitalfields in the East End of London are awash with an eclectic mix of colourful and creative street art. There are places where every single square inch of a wall or a shutter has been utilised as a canvass on which artists have daubed examples of amazingly imaginative urban art. What I set out to do in this video was to capture the street art wherever it has appeared around Spitalfields and Whitechapel. As I wandered around photographing it I was struck by how fickle and time sensitive some of these pieces are. There were, for example, old instances of art that have been up there for several years now and which have started to fade and peel, adding an added artistic element as the works of art mature, then fade, then peel and then are painted over to ...
http://www.goldentours.com/jack_the_ripper_murders/ The story of the Whitechapel murders is one of the great unsolved mysteries in the world. It is also one of the most fascinating and bloodthirsty tales you will ever hear. It happened here in London in the year 1888.
Why have a plan for humanity when you haven't done anything yourself
If I were you I'd run and hide because a beautiful darkness has arrived
The one you call father is dead and gone
I slit his throat
Resurrected him and did it again
This bitter world is in my hands
No false pretentiousness son of man will inhibit the structures I've devised
Beneath the clouded smoke beneath the acid rain
The tombs of a fallen race are revived and
Reprogrammed to hate
Reprogrammed to hate
Why have a plan for humanity when you haven't done anything yourself
If I were you I'd run and hide because a beautiful darkness has arrived
The one you call father is dead and gone
I slit his throat
Resurrected him and did it again
These drones of hell will rid the smell of putrid human failure
Man is his own worst enemy
How could you hope
How could you dream for such impossibilities
Man is his own worst enemy
What doesn't kill you makes you a victim of eternal torture
What doesn't kill you makes you a victim of infernal flames
This isn't a plea for power it's the beginning of a revolution
The revolution of extermination
The revolution of total control
I have nothing nothing to hide
I am the alpha and the omega
I have nothing nothing to hide
Imprisoned with no afterlife
Why have a plan for humanity when you haven't done anything yourself
If I were you I'd run and hide because a beautiful darkness has arrived
Why have a plan for humanity when you haven't done anything yourself
If I were you I'd run and hide
